What happened in Turkish football today? 10/12/2023

Trabzonspor got win against Gaziantep thanks to 2nd half goals.

Trabzonspor has managed to get win against Gaziantep with 3:1 scoreline with all goals during 2nd half as when looking at form of recent weeks, Trabzonspor did come slightly as favourites and it did performed according to that.

Even through all goals during game as been stated did come during 2nd half, it needs to be stated Trabzonspor has been better side during 1st half as it has controlled ball better and has shown strong attacking game but did lack its final touches. Still, when 2nd half did start it was expected for Trabzonspor to be able to convert its chances into goals as it would be raising level of its attacks. It has also been important for sure for both Trezeguet and Bakasetas to find goals as in generall during this season both players has been below they level of performance and this goals could  bring back confidence to those two.

Gaziantep didnt come to game with good form as it did lose last 3 games and this mentality did look present as it looked to be passive as its goalkeeper has been best player and prevented for outcome to be more humiliating.

Trabzonspor still did get an important win and would be aiming to get some winning run and raise confdidence for upcoming week.

Fenerbahce dominated game for 90 minutes during derby game.

Fenerbahce has dominated derby game against Besiktas for 90 minutes and could have scored much more goals than it did if it wasnt for opponent goalkeeper Mert Gunok who made some crucial saves including from penalty.

Fenerbahce as been noted beforehand did come out as favourites for the game when looking into its recent form and also fight for top spot at Galatasaray but without doubt it wasnt expected for them to game to be played in such easy manner. It needs to be stated that Fenerbahce during whole game has only made one mistake which has led to penalty kick. Meanwhile, Edin Dzeko among scoring an opening goal of the game has generally provided strong willingness with looking for chances and creating them. It does look like short period where it did get unwanted results has been over and Fenerbahce once again are showing confident and dominant performance on the field.

Apart of Mert Gunok, Fenerbahce didnt recieve much pressure from Besiktas and for sure did get confident win in such crucial game.

Besiktas accepted dominance of Fenerbahce

Besiktas has provided its worst performance during derby game for possibly in all history of rivarlies between both sides as it didnt provide any positive performance for 90 minutes.

Hasan Arat becoming CEO last week and playing at home ground with full of its supporters didnt provide motivational boost to side which has been expected as team looked to be passive and has expected dominant Fenerbahce attacking game. With team starting without Vincent Aboubakar does raise questions of starting 11 from Riza Calimbaya also for sure.

With after this loss Besiktas finds itself 14 points behind Galatasaray and Fenerbahce and we are not even at mid-season transfer window. With very likely being out of title race it would need to focus into new tasks but that could be difficult thing to achieve.
