What happened in Turkish football today? 11/12/2023

Trabzonspor did manage to show good concentration against Gaziantep.

Trabzonspor has got pretty confident win against Gaziantep with 3:1 scoreline but it needs to be stated that its opponents didnt provide much resistance on the field.

With getting further from race for leadership at the Trabzonspor and also pretty poor results at the league in recent weeks, it is hard to concentrate into the games but it does need to be stated that Trabzonspor did show good focus towards game especially during 2nd half as Bakasetas and Trezeguet did show performance which people are used to see them due of help of Abdullah Avci without doubt.

Hence, even with being 14 points league leaders it could be accepted from Trabzonspor to continue showing some good performance which would be aiming to improve as league continues.

Galatasaray and Copenhagen would give all for last 16 ticket.

Galatasaray would be coming to one of historical games for themselves as it would be meeting with Copenhagen at last week of Champions League as winning game would make them to reach last 16 while loss could even cost them Europa League spot.

Even through Copenhagen has been seen as weakest link by many prior to start of the group stage, it is being team which been improving in recent seasons and has become regular at European football therefore it wouldnt be an easy game. Galatasaray performance against top teams Bayern Munich and Manchester United has been very good as it shown that is capable to be not very far from such opponent and even better than Manchester United but it could be stated that same has been achieved from Copenhagen and first game in league hasnt been an easy game which ended with draw. Both teams would be coming out for win as draw doesnt seem to be doing help so it would game wiht high pressure for sure.

With so many at stakes it is hard to call clear favourite, but Copenhagen does have advantage of playing at home and also cold Danish evenings would be also help them.

Besiktas put 5 players out of squad.

Besiktas has announced that it as put 5 players at its squad out of squad due of poor performance and also undisciplinary actions which were given.

Players who have been put out of squad are Vincent Aboubakar, Eric Bailly, Jean Onana, Rachid Ghezzal and Valentin Rosier. It is interesting some players of this have been injured in recent weeks and there is possibility that this has been done also due of being injured in often times. One thing could be seen as for sure that Besiktas with its new administration team of Hasan Arat has done its transfer works arleady as it has made it clear that it would be considering to sell this player in mid-season transfer window.

With Besiktas going through difficult period putting some of the key players out of squad could be seen as too risky but it does look Arat aims to act on fast manner and open door with building team for rest of the season.
