What happened in Turkish football today? 03/02/2022

Galatasaray has signed Semih Kaya until end of the season.

Galatasaray has signed contract with Semih Kaya after 1 day he has terminated contract with Yeni Malatyaspor on previous day until end of the season as this deal did come due of good connection between both sides.

Semih Kaya did state beforehand that he would be willing to rejoin Galatasaray at any period of time and conditions which he just did that for this unusual duration of the period and with his experience would be providing strong defensive strength as side aims to get further from relegation zone. Meanwhile, if he manages to provide strong performance during his period at Galatasaray it would be also be expected for sides to extend contract with each other. Hence, this move could been expected even through Semih Kaya did drop in his level of performance.

Semih Kaya hence got good opportunity to prove himself once again in such top club and show his quality to Turkey.

Konyaspor extended contract with Sokol Cikalleshi

Konyaspor has extended contract with one of its key players in recent seasons Sokol Cikalleshi as side is being closest opponent to Trabzonspor at the title race.

Without doubt Konyaspor are having memorable performance during this season with whole side showing strong confident performance and without doubt Sokol Cikalleshi is being one of the players who is showing such strong confident game right now, and being one of the reasons why side is being fighting for title right now. So, therefore it should not be surprsing that contract been extended for 2-years before its been over as player is certainly is always satisfied as Konyaspor without doubt would be focussed to continue providing some pressure to Trabzonspor.

Konyaspor did right thing with such extension as it would provide morale and confidence to Cikalleshi in upcoming weeks.

Ahmet Agaolu got positive Covid19 test result.

Covid19 and especially Omicron variant continues to be affecting whole Turkish community and football especially as Trabzonspor CEO Ahmet Agaoglu did get positive test result.

Without doubt, one of the main motivational boosts for side in this title race and strong advantage has been stance of Ahmet Agaolu and even through he would be continuing providing some support from his house, he will not have direct communication with football side which could have some impact to morale to club but still as team being fully concentrated will not have too much negative impact to them.

With 110,000+ daily cases in Turkey right now, it needs to be reminded again Covid19 does affect to Turkish public and football world as we wish fast recovery to Ahmet Agaoglu.
