What happened in Turkish football today? 18/02/2022

Fenerbahce continues showing poor performance this time losing to Slavia Prague.

Fenerbahce continues showing poor performance as it continued its ineffective game against Slavia Prague during Europa Conference League 2nd round 1st leg game with 3:2 scoreline and even through there is some hope with such scoreline, it doesnt look very optimistic.

There have been expectation that Fenerbahce would be shown better performance in this game as it being only competition which team stays at and it did start in such matter with controlling ball and going forward but overall it didnt provide much attacking game apart of Ferdi Kadioglu and Arda Guler who showed strong willingness and played direct role with two goals. Even through there is been expectation for different performance from side, it would need to be noted that with football being continuous sport poor performance and poor morale domestically would naturally affect to Europe. With away-goal rule out Fenerbahce has opportunity for last 16 but not with such performance and psychology.

Fenerbahce continues showing poor performance as it moved to Conference League and it doesnt look like it would be sort out soon.

Besiktas would be aiming to provide more confident performance.

Besiktas would be focussing to end draw run as it would be playing against Altay which is having struggle right now in the league and also would try to show payback as it lost to opponent in 1st half of the season.

It needs to be mentioned that this Altay would be coming out in much weaker form as during 1st half it was side which been focussing into top positions and now tries to keep safe from relegation zone so this does put into advantage to Besiktas but with looking into recent performance of Istanbul side especially towards end of the games, it still will not be right to call them definite leaders. When taking account that Besiktas does lose tempo in the last minutes, Altay could give shot in this game if it manages to keep scoreline at draw until 70th minute and Altay certainly is aware of this. Besiktas meanwhile would focus into solving this issue of last minutes in this game.

Besiktas does come out with lots of the issues and it would be focussing into stopping them for 90 minutes.

Murat Sancak has recieved 3-month deprivation of rights.

Adana Demirspor CEO Murat Sancak has recieved 3-month ban from PFDK after calling some referees and Central Referee Committee members to be members of FETO group which is been accussed of organised failed coup d'état.

Murat Sancak did make some loud criticism with calling some members of referees to be members of FETO but didnt provide any proof of such being case so without doubt this is being huge defamation statements and it was expected, as Sancak stated himself, for him to recieve high ban and this been 3-month ban or in other words until end of this season. Even through, there is possibility for TFF for needing to go through internal invistigation in this matter, Sancak statements would not be expected and hence fine is being justified and would remind everyone to be careful with their statements.

Meanwhile, there is also criminal case openned by TFF for such statements which looks to be affecting relationships with two parties.
