What happened in Turkish football today? 05/03/2021

Fenerbahce needs to solve out lack of concentration issue.

Fenerbahce did provide performance of two different halves during Super League 28th week game against Antalyaspor and without doubt did lose 2 points due of poor performance in 1st half.

Fenerbahce did looked to be lacking concentration during 1st half with controlling ball but didnt provide much danger to Antalyaspor which were main due of passing ball rather then rising tempo which is needed. Without doubt conceded goal which did come out from incredible simple mistake from Marcel Tisserand did led for Antalyaspor to find 1000th goal at league history. With scoring this goal, Antalyaspor has provided very strong and organised defence until end of the game which did led for Fenerbahce to have issues, even through it did provide much pressure towards 2nd half which been due of right substitutes hence did lead for equaliser goal from Enner Valencia which led for much attacking game towards end but didnt convert it. It does look that Fenerbahce need to solve this issue of lack of concentration and providing pressure when score is 0:0 or behind.

Fenerbahce did provide some promising game during 2nd half but it did lose important 2 points especially Galatasaray lost their game.

Trabzonspor did get win which it needed for morale.

Even through Trabzonspor did lose to Fenerbahce, following win against Kasimpasa during 28th week did put them back into title race with being behind leaders with 6 points once again still being outsiders of race.

It needs to be noted that loss during last week did affect to performance of the side as it been pretty far from prior to Fenerbahce performance not having so much control of the game and preventing opponent to get control of game. Still, high focus and determination despite of this downsides did led for side to win game and would regain motivation which their did look, and other games result would provide them extra motivation for upcoming games. Still, downside has been for letting Kasimpasa to have some opportunities as their did show also good game and did give high focus and best to win this game. Still, Trabzonspor did get crucial win and would be motivated for upcoming games without doubt.

Following last week loss, Trabzonspor did need some good reaction in this week game and despite it didnt show great game it did get result which it needed in such condition.

Gaziantep could provide some issues to Besiktas

Following loss of points from Galatasaray and Fenerbahce and having game in hand, Besiktas got strong opportunity to get small advantage in race for top spot but there would be playing against tough opponent.

Even through Besiktas did get win against Yeni Malatyaspor, being only one to do so at top 3 last week, it is hard to note it did provide confident performance and it does need to improve as Gaziantep is tough opponent despite of having decline in previous week. With Gaziantep start also getting some good results from strong opponents in recent games and providing positive game would lead them to show some positive game in this week. Meanwhile, Gaziantep would be likely to focus into closed defence as it does provide difficult to opponent and seems one of the keys to get at least point. Therefore, Besiktas would be need to look for some creative game to get result which it would be seeking for.

Besiktas are coming out as favourites but for sure Gaziantep could be tough opponent to them in this 90 minutes.
