What happened in Turkish football today? 09/03/2021

Fenerbahce showed top level performance against Konyaspor.

Fenerbahce got very important and confident win against Konyaspor during Super League 29th week with especially showing strong game during 1st half, as it continues getting confident results at away games during this season.

Fenerbahce did start game with high tempo taking whole control of the game with providing high level of opportunitites without letting opponent even to pass their half. In fact, even through 1st goal from Adam Szalai on 29th minute could be seen as early goal, with how side performed up to then it could be said that goal did come late, with another great goal coming from Bright Osayi-Samuel after 2 minutes did lead to get advantage of scoreline and get control of the game. Hence, Fenerbahce even through did allow opponent some opportunities which been criticised from Erol Bulut also in the end of the game, Fenerbahce did get good win. Meanwhile, it is reported that Pelkas health condition is being good and after 2-day precaution rest he would resume training session. In overall, side did show good game with all players providing top performance.

Fenerbahce has once again at away and now needs to sort its performance at home ground if it wants to get title this season.

Trabzonspor gets further from top spot race once again.

Trabzonspor it needs to be noted continues its decline of performance which been seen from recent performance and now does find itself in pretty disadvantage and difficult condition for title and 2nd spot race.

With Alanyaspor, regardless if it wins or loses and whoever opponent is, always seeks to provide attacking style of game with positive kind of play as whole squad, and it became clear even with Abdullah Avci being head coach that side does have issues with showing response to side which has strong quality and play for win. In similar manner, as against Galatasaray and Fenerbahce games, Trabzonspor looked to be static without creating much of the opportunities while Alanyaspor could even get more confident win compare to 3:1 scoreline. It does look like, even through there is limitation which does arise due of quality of squad, Trabzonspor does have issue of responding to attacking opponents which needs to be sorted by Avci.

With Trabzonspor coming from behind almost whole season, did lead every loss further from top spot and it does look like Avci should set specific target for this season and work according that.

Genclerbirligi has terminated contract with Mehmet Altiparmak

Genclerbirligi has termitated contract with its head coach Mehmet Altiparmak as side continues getting poor results and are currently located at last spot.

Even through Genclerbirligi did occassionally show some good games in overall it did provide some poor performance in whole performance despite of having pretty good squad which could be aiming for mid-positions. Mehmet Altiparmak as coach didnt manage to fulfill this expectations as with him side didnt get good results and most importantly doesnt give much signs that it would be improving with him at this post. Even through we do state that patience should be given by administration, in this condition where Genclerbirligi is not good position without much potential this action needed to be done.

There is rumour meanwhile that side is interested to appointed Ibrahim Uzulmez in his position with page would be following developments in this matter.
