What happened in Turkish football today? 04/03/2021

Fenerbahce continues to be showing poor game at home ground

Fenerbahce continues losing points at its home ground in this season as it drawn with 1:1 scoreline against Antalyaspor despite of providing strong attacking game especially during 2nd half but couldnt pass opponents organised defence.

Fenerbahce when looking at how performed during 90 minutes did come out for win with how attitude did provide but it meet with opponent which was detirmened not to lose hence it was focussed into defensive game when scoreline been 1:0 and 1:1. However, it needs to be noted that conceded goal would not be expected in this level, as Marcel Tisserand did give wrong pass at dangerous zone without being into high pressure and this could be only due of lack of concentration which seems to be issue with player in overall. After that conceded goal, Fenerbahce start providing strong attacking game especially during 2nd half but did have issue with converting them and overpassing confident defenders. It needs to be noted that Dimitrios Pelkas did provide once again strong attacking game which includes assist to Enner Valencia and getting disallowed penalty which proved how detirmened to score and get win for this side. Meanwhile, Mesut Ozil did get serious injury during whole game which could lead at least for his absence for some weeks at least hoping it wouldnt be last for very long time.

Antalyaspor meanwhile did provide confident and organised defence after getting 1:0 without letting opponent to get good opportunities hence proving that it undefeated streak is not accident and it does look to be continued to be difficult opponent in upcoming games.

Fenerbahce did provide forward seeking game but did have issues with converting opportunities due of issue that Antalyaspor did provide very good defence. Now Fenerbahce needs to find reasons why it cant win at home.

Trabzonspor got important even through didnt show perfect game.

Trabzonspor has been able to get win against Kasimpasa with 2:1 scoreline and has reduced point difference with clubs at the top to 6 points even through it has been pretty struggling game for them.

Despite of win from Trabzonspor, it needs to be noted that it did failed to get full control of the game with letting Kasimpasa to provide control of the game in some moments with creating some good opportunities on their part, even through it needs to be noted that Kasimpasa did look to be highly motivated for this game. Looking for Trabzonspor, such performance which it didnt perform in some weeks games ago could be aftermath of losing to Fenerbahce during last week which did put their chances for title into more difficult condition. Still, Trabzonspor did provide focus to the game and did aim for win which could be seen with how it has went forward during its chances with good goals from Djaniny and Bakasetas. In fact, it could be noted that Trabzonspor didnt provide very bad game but midfielders and defenders were not in best day. Still, this win could provide needed motivation for upcoming weeks as it still being title contender, even through being outsider compare to others.

Kasimpasa on their part did proride good performance with aiming to stay organised both in defence and attack and despite of losing game did manage to do so in its part but level of sides between sides did affect outcome.

Trabzonspor didnt show its useful game which it been seeked for but still get result which it needed after Fenerbahce loss, and would now seek for new winning series in upcoming games.

Referee decisions were debatable, but Galatasaray didnt show great game.

Even through Galatasaray following loss to Ankaragucu did try to overshadow to referees of the game, it needs to be noted that side didnt provide high level game and Ankaragucu did get deserved win.

It is true that referee decisions were been debatable at penalty and red card, but its not level which how Galatasaray did show following game. In fact, high amount of football pundits did focus on that referee didnt make mistakes which could be seen as undebatable and that Galatasaray did provide poor game. It needs to be noted that Galatasaray did provide some worrying performance in recent weeks which could be main reason for side to lose 3 points and also turning point been opportunity from Emre Kilinc who didnt score golden opportunity. Ankaragucu looked to be more determined, focussed and willing to win compare to Galatasaray and providing such high level performance from side which is been at relegation zone against leaders should be praised especially when it was expected that side would be focussed into defence with aiming to get 1 point but it did quite opposite of this especially during 1st half.

Therefore, referee decisions are been debatable without doubt but it didnt affect to the outcome and Fatih Terim needs to focus on that rather into attacking for upcoming games.
