Antalyaspor reaches to Turkish Cup final with beating Alanyaspor.
Antalyaspor has reached to Turkish Cup final with beating Alanyaspor with 2:0 scoreline during Antalya region derby game which did get well-deserved win with providing much more confident and attacking game.
Even through to some extend it could be noted that both sides did provide similar performance without providing high tempo, it should be noted that Antalyaspor did look to be more focussed and effective with its performance providing effective attacking with finding two great goals with Lukas Podoski and Hakan Ozmert finding two great goals. Without doubt among looking to be much effective with its performance, it did provide patient football with showing high concentration and respect to opponent. In fact, only moment when Antalyaspor did lose some control of game has been towards end of the game as Alanyaspor tried to get back in last 10 minutes. Without doubt Antalyaspor did learn from mistakes which it shown during league game during weekend and provided effective performance.
On other hand, Alanyaspor did in some moments control game especially after 2:0 but did lack with showing effective attacking game as it didnt find goals and didnt provide much danger to Antalyaspor game. Even through it could be harsh to state that Alanyaspor did provide very poor game, its been far from performance which been expected from them as it didnt manage to get into effective attacking game. Alanyaspor did show strong performance during end of the game which does raise questions why it didnt show such game during whole game as it didnt look to be highly motivated. With getting out of competition Alanyaspor is currently being 6 points behind 4th spot Trabzonspor which it would likely to focus now to get European spot.
Antalyaspor with providing strong performance with high focus and control did get to Turkish Cup final where it would be meeting with Besiktas where it would be coming as underdog as today for sure, but this would be even more tough game.
Besiktas got into final regardless of poor game in 2nd half.
Besiktas has reached to Turkish Cup final after beating Basaksehirspor with 3:2 scoreline, thanks to the Cyle Larin at 102nd minute with game going to extra-time which would not be seen as good thing prior to derby game.
Even through it did end wth same scoreline as did league last weekend, it needs to be noted that despite of some pundits comments, its been different games as it was played at different tempo and different scenario. Coming to this game, Besiktas did provide better performance then opponents did when looking as game as whole but it did provide pretty poor performance on 2nd half as it led for Basaksehirspor to show comeback from 2:0 to 2:2, bringing game to extra-time. With players believing that it did get to final and Basaksehirspor not likely to show this comeback, did provide motivation for Basaksehirspor for sure. With such result it did let them to get extra 30 minutes prior to derby game while Fenerbahce would have rest for 6 days. Still, it did get win in the end which could turn as confidence for derby game.
Besiktas has deservedly reached to Turkish Cup final and could now set their eyes to ending season as double with being leaders of league too.
Basaksehirspor did show good character after poor 1st half.
Basaksehirspor on they part didnt provide performance which has been expected from them due of poor results at league but it didnt start in such manner but did improve during 2nd half and did provide strong resistance.
With Besiktas scoring 2 goals within 22 minutes, did provide image that Basaksehirspor would not provide resistance which been expected and will not get close with its performance during league game, but Besiktas showing some relaxation and Basaksehirspor focussing more into attacking game on 2nd half did lead them to show strong resistance and bring game to additional time. Without doubt, from 2nd half level of performance been pretty close to Besiktas and even through were not in same level, it wasnt big difference. Basaksehirspor is still not showing level of performance which it did in previous season but it is showing some improvement right now and in few weeks would be able to almost secure its place for next season at top league.
With Basaksehirspor losing this game, it would now for sure provide full attention to stay at the league if it doesnt want to be first side to be relegated after winning title.
