What happened in Turkish football today? 19/02/2021

Trabzonspor got great win against Basaksehirspor despite of high number of absences.

Without doubt, Trabzonspor has got very important win against defending champions Basaksehirspor with coming out with high number of absences including goalkeepers, as Basaksehirspor are having very struggling season.

It was expected that Trabzonspor would have difficult 90 minutes with high number of absences which been in total of 11, which included 7 from Covid19 cases, and it needs to be noted that to some extend it has been case as side didnt provide full control of the game which been expected from them compare to previous games. However, Basaksehirspor which does fail to show effective game during whole season didnt provide much pressure to 18-year Kagan Moradoglu despite of positions towards end when Basaksehirspor were controlling ball and creating some opportunities where he did show some saves especially in the end of the game. In fact, that save could even name him as player of the game as making such crucial save in such high pressure moment is big achievement with addition it has been very good save until. Meanwhile, winning goal from Yusuf Sari did come in moment when Basaksehirspor did control game as he did show great counterattack single-handedly with energy as he did come to field after 3 minutes.

Basaksehirspor without doubt did get strong opportunity to get win and stop its negative period of losing back-to-back games but it didnt do much to show to get win against opponent which didnt come with ideal squad apart of end of the game.

Trabzonspor did get very important win with having such high number of absences with players giving their best which includes young players especially with Kaan Moradoglu.

Galatasaray will focus to end its recent poor results against Alanyaspor

Galatasaray will be playing against its most problematic opponent in Turkey during Super League 26th week as it didnt manage to beat Alanyaspor during previous 3 games.

As it is known, there are some sides which does provide some difficulties for some clubs even if when their are not usually being into same level with same aims for season and without doubt this being case. During previous 3 games which Galatasaray, 2 did come out from Turkish Cup games in previous 2 seasons. When taking account of top 3 sides being at same points, Galatasaray would be coming with only focus to get result from this game and end this unlucky period against them but Alanyaspor on their part would be certainly coming out to get result so it would be staying in the Europa League fight with win possibly even keep their chances for top position mathematically. Still, when looking how both sides perform Galatasaray does look to be favourite with Mustafa Muhammed expected to play crucial role once again without doubt during game.

It would be difficult game for Galatasaray for sure due of problematic opponent but it would be important for them to stay focussed and dont use this as psychological pressure.

Cenk Tosun has become injured.

Besiktas has got unwanted development with Cenk Tosun who has become injured despite of showing great comeback to his side after he returned from Everton as loan player as recovery process did return.

Cenk Tosun entrance on 2nd half during Ankaragucu game has been treated as positive development without doubt by everyone connected to Besiktas so this injury news would be seen as poor news as it would also stop good connection in attack with Vincent Aboubakar to strength attacking game for team. Positive news is that Besiktas will not be playing during this week, and hence medical staff members could be working into his recovery as club only announced him being injured without providing any additional information of when he would be recovered. This break would also allow Sergen Yalcin to see how he can use squad, without much changes, for Denizlispor game and upcoming games without Cenk Tosun.

Since Cenk Tosun did join recently side, Yalcin wouldnt needed to do much changes tactically but it did use player who did show willingness of being effective at front for sure.
