Alanyaspor got deserved win against Galatasaray
Alanyaspor has reached to Turkish Cup semi-final stage to Galatasaray with 3:2 scoreline even through it did have some nervous moments towards end of the game as it did lose 3:0 advantage it got in start of 1st half.
Its been observed that Alanyaspor did provide much more fighting performance compare to their opponents with showing effective attacking game with using its opportunities more effectively while preventing Galatasaray with creating difficult opponents while Istanbul side did have issues to get inside the game in same concentration. It needs to be noted that Alanyaspor did provide full upper hand during 1st half providing strong performance with high focus and concentration with Salih Ucan scoring great goal while Babacar continues to show himself as leader of the side in the attack scoring openning goal and converting penalty shot. It needs to be noted that one of the down side of this performance has been for losing 2 goals towards end of the game but this could be from tiredness which led to lose of concentration among 3:0 scoreline relaxation but despite of that it should be noted that Alanyaspor got well-deserved win.
Without doubt, Galatasaray did have pretty poor start of the game without being able to get control of the 1st half looking to be more or less passive and lack of concentration which did leave for side to be losing providing slow tempo game and led them to concede during that period. Following, 3:0 scoreline with some changes on the field with introducing including newly-signed Gerson Fernandes did raise tempo of the game with having some high opportunities which including scoring 2 goals, with one of them coming in the last minute of the game which included also two posts and not passing opponent during great opportunity. Even through Galatasaray did show some great fighting back in the game it did rise question why it took for scoreline to get 3:0 for them to show reaction. Positive sign for them has been for Mustafa Muhammed and Gerson Fernandes, both being newly-signed players did score which would raise adaptation to this league and tea.
Alanyaspor provided very good performance and did get good scoreline against Galatasaray especially with how side did perform during 1st half while Galatasaray with losing this game on positive side could focus more into Super League title aims.
Fenerbahce is being relegated from Turkish Cup.
Fenerbahce has been eliminated from Turkish Cup as it lost to Basaksehirspor in the game which went to up to 120 minutes during which game Mauricio Lemos did get red card due of foul prior to opponent 1st goal.
Despite of playing with 10 men during Basaksehirspor game, it needs to be admitted that Fenerbahce did provide some good response to that with providing strong fighting spirit with bringing game into extratime, even through it needs to be admitted that game been played at pretty slow tempo and struggling Basaksehirspor. It needs to be noted that it could been mistake for Fenerbahce to enter Mesut Ozil on 2nd half, with starting game with him could be much better tactical and later substitute him both according to his physical condition and game development. However, with game going into extra time did lead him to get much more playing time compare to what been expected from him as he played 95 minutes in such crucial moments of the game. Fenerbahce did show good reaction following red card but did fail to raise tempo.
Fenerbahce now been relegated from Turkish C up but still have good position in the league and possibly would focus into that even more in rest of season.
Konyaspor would provide more winning focussed game at Turkish Cup game
Besiktas will be resuming its Turkish Cup aim against Konyaspor during quarter-final stage after it has beaten them in the league on 7th February with playing most game with 10 men.
It needs to be noted that Turkish Cup, especially with this season being played with one game would provide different motivation to Konyaspor and following very poor game in league, it would provide much more brave game. There is possibility that Konyaspor could come out with more players from regular side compare to Besiktas who would likely put league into more priority. Still, Besiktas would be coming out with focus to win game and keep its momentum once again with players showing its best game against Besiktas. Meanwhile, Cenk Tosun could be playing during this game either as coming as substitute or at starting 11.
Besiktas are coming out as favourite, but Konyaspor could provide strong game with taking cup more seriously then league.
