What happened in Turkish football today? 17/02/2021

Galatasaray provides too much tension with its statements against Fenerbahce

Following Super League 23rd week game between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray, Galatasaray has provided some accusations towards Fenerbahce such as side has included unallowed supporters in the field, to which Fenerbahce has declined has decline during today's statement.

Fenerbahce in return did focus into providing self-defence stating that statements which were been suggested by its opponents for week and half, while there been quiet included such as Fenerbahce didnt allow allowed supporters with accepting supporters with password 1907, to which Fenerbahce did state that for this it couldnt happpen and is more or less part of imagination from Galatasaray as systematically this couldnt even happen and wouldnt be allowed. It needs to be noted most importantly that this argument, which been especially taken by Galatasaray does provide harm to very exciting season and does raise tension between both sides and whole football community. In fact, Galatasaray has also announced that it would go to court, which is needless action from them and raises tension for no reason.

Both sides without doubt need to reduce this argument and focus for rest of the season. This only would provide both to clubs and image of Super League.

TFF has announced that no supporters would be allowed to Super League until 1st April.

TFF CEO Nihat Ozdemir has announced that supporters for Super League, as been expected will not accepted until 1st April after which it would be making decision according to how virus will be spreading in Turkey.

Whole Turkish football community, including this page, does want for games to be taking with supporters as lack of them without doubt does affect into quality of the games and reduces excitement, but it needs to be remembered that health does comes first right now. It needs to be noted that right now number of daily cases is still being pretty high, especially taking account that weekend curfew is taking place right now and with mutated Covid19 virus is currently being spread, it does look to be too early yet to provide any lifts with it being uncertain if it would be safe to do on 1st April as it is hard to predict. Meanwhile, this might be sounding unpopular for supporters and clubs we would also suggest that even on 2nd April, Covid19 would be under control it would still needed to end season without supporters as 1.5 months would be left until end of Super League and hence would mean 2nd games of the season would be played with supporters which would be unfair.

With virus still being spread across Turkey with mutated virus, it is smart move not to accept supporters as time would show when it would be safe to do so.

Ahmet Agaoglu suggest to vaccinate players too.

Meanwhile, most club which been affected from Covid19 right now is being Trabzonspor as during period of less then week, 7 players and 1 personnel staff member has got positive test result for Covid19.

With entering to critical period in the league, with Trabzonspor being 6 points behind leaders, it could be possibly affected from this development without doubt. With such development Trabzonspor CEO Ahmet Agaoglu has suggested that football players would need also to get vaccinated. He did state that group which are more importantly should be still be given priority, but following most important groups players should be at higher place then now. One of his arguments is that football is being only entertainment for public right now as whole weekend curfew while on weekdays its not allowed to come out. However, it needs to be reminded that TFF does everything for games to be played so with this taking account it doesnt look like players should be such high priority at vaccination.

It needs also to be remembered that with 6 players been infected which would affected into upcoming games, this suggestion also been releated from self-interest for sure.

7 Antalyaspor administrators has resigned from their post.

- Galatasaray administrator Abdurrahim Albayrak has got Covid19 vaccine.
