What happened in Turkish football today? 01/02/2021

Besiktas did lose to Trabzonspor with showing high level game.

Besiktas has provided pretty strong and confident performance against Trabzonspor despite of losing with 2:1 scoreline as both sides did come out for win with showing positive and fair-play for most game.

It needs to be noted that Besiktas did aim to provide high level attacking game with creating some of the good opportunities but couldnt pass Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir who did provide high level performance at the goal. Coming to conceded goals from Besiktas it could be noted that its been mainly from out of luck especially during 1st goal as shots from Patrice Nwakaeme did been reflected from Domagoj Vida who later touched from Montero. With this positions coming out of instance it would be hard to find anyone to blame in this position as all parties did focus into defending its goal. Still, Besiktas did focus to show high level game in same manner which did Trabzonspor which did lead to possible most enjoyable game during this season. Right now, Besiktas would need to forget this loss and focus to Antalyaspor game on 3rd February aiming to show strong response.

With this result Besiktas did lose its leadership to Fenerbahce getting 1 point behind them but it should be stucked too much in this game as it still does show good game.

Trabzonspor has got well-deserved win with showing improvement by each game.

Trabzonspor got very important win against Besiktas as it kept themselves into title race as it has won against leaders prior to game and hence reduced point difference with 1st spot from 11 to 9 points, continuing showing improvement by each week.

In fact, this game has been played against sides which following pretty poor start of the season has shown strong improvement both with result and performance wise, with Trabzonspor continuing to improving as game continue to take place. Without doubt, it did possibly shown its best game since start of the season with showing strong game both at defence and attack, while Ugurcan Cakir did show his best game with preventing high number of great opportunities from Besiktas shots hence keeping side inside the game while scoreline has been 1:0 and hence did play very important role. However, as been implied with only giving this win to good performance of Cakir would be disrespectul to other sides. Trabzonspor as whole did show great game. Its only disadvantage for Trabzonspor is being 9 points behind leaders but with 19 games left to be played it still has chance for title with such performance.

Trabzonspor kept themselves at race for leadership but most important showing high improvement with its performance.

Fenerbahce would be playing against confident opponent.

With Trabzonspor beating Besiktas on previous day, Fenerbahce would be coming out to Hatayspor game as league leaders which certainly would provide strong motivation but it would play against surprising and tough opponent.

Without doubt Hatayspor is being biggest of this season which strong performance in this season especially from Aaron Boupendza being best scorer so far during this season. In fact, most focus from Fenerbahce during game should be given towards him as he would be closest and hence extra measures should be taken from defenders if it wants to get win from this game. Meanwhile, newly-signed team superstar Mesut Ozil has been taken to 18-team squad for 1st time and possibly could be taken some playing time prior to derby game against Galatasaray which does make does make this game into more anticapating, even through it is unclear if he would be having any playing time. Hatayspor meanwhile does show very strong performance with nice attacking game, factor which certainly would provide confidence to them during this game.

Fenerbahce does look to be favourite for this game but Hatayspor would be coming out with belief it can get good result from this game also.
