What happened in Turkish football today? 07/12/2020

Sivasspor let know to Trabzonspor that it cant always win with 1:0 scoreline

Trabzonspor has lost its first points with its head coach Abdullah Avci as it drawn against Sivasspor with 1:1 scoreline as their opponent has reminded to them that winning games is not being enough with only focussing into defence.

With getting ahead in the end of the 1st half wutg 1:0 scoreline, Abdullah Avci once again with focussing mainly into defensive game has hoped he would be able to win same scoreline as side scored 1 goal in previous 2 games. It is known that Avci mainly focusses into defensive game, which is one of the most underrated importance in the football but without scoring goals it would be hard to win games without doubt. Sivasspor without doubt has been aware of this as it provided much more attacking game during 2nd half which did create some of the opportunities as game been developed with Traabzonspor once again focussing into defensive game which led them to concede goal from Hakan Arslan. It needs to be noted that Trabzonspor lost to Sivasspor which had number of the absences.  Without doubt, Avci would need to focus also to attacking games if he wants to get wins.

Sivasspor on their part having high number of the absences which includes head coach Riza Calimbay and also in mind possibly being to most important game in its history against Maccabi Tel-Aviv did affect its performance tonight but side needs to improve for upcoming game.

Trabzonspor needs to work into attacking game to close gap from leaders which is currently 10 points with leaders of the league.

Fenerbahce didnt need to get so much behind even if its 10-on-11.

As Fenerbahce was aiming to get confident win against Denizlispor during Super League 11th week game with its performance during 1st half, it made its task much harder after highly discussed red card of Serdar Aziz.

Fenerbahce did provide high level performance during 1st half of the game with getting 2:0 scoreline leadership with Marcel Tisserand disallowed goal being taking place and did look like it would get good performance during 2nd half not allowing mistakes which were shown by Basaksehirspor during last week. However, with Serdar Aziz highly discussed 2 yellow card during handball which led for to penalty, things been changed as game has become between Denizlispor and Altay Bayindir. Without doubt, Bayindir saves deserve to be highly embraced as he did save very diffucult position including penalty. However, even if it was played on 10 -on-11 during those period, it is not unexpectable when looking in the difference between sides for Fenerbahce to provide too much defensive game with led for Altay Bayindir to become main player of the game.

It does look like during this weeks training session specific focus as been noted also last week would need to be given to solve defensive issues at the team.

Basaksehirspor will aim to end Champions League with good performance.

Basaksehirspor would be coming to its last game at the Champions League which would be formality game for them while PSG would be coming to game which it would need to get at least point to get to the next stage.

Basaksehirspor as been noted did come to very difficult group, which been seen as death group where it was weakest link, and despite of all this did provide very good game with getting win against Manchester United at home and apart of return fixture of its opponent, did provide very good memorable game always focussing into its tasks and did leave some mark despite of last place. Due of coefficient points it would be expected despite of formality for site to come out with good squad and provide its usual stong and self-focussed performance but with PSG would need to get result to get to knockout stages, there would be obviously much favourably for win.

In overall, Basaksehirspor did show confident game which didnt reflect into results, which would be seen normal in such group, and now would focus to end its campaign with good result.
