What happened in Turkish football today? 01/12/2020

Basaksehirspor needs to show its own game as it did until now.

Basaksehirspor would be coming out to the crucial game against RB Leipzig during Champions League Group H 5th week where it would be needing to win game to keep its opportunities to get to knockout stages of Champions League or Europa League.

With getting surprising result against Manchester United 2 weeks ago did provide such opportunity to Champions League but being on such difficult group does provide chances pretty low but as been noted before hand this to do some extend does provide advantage at least to show good game. It needs to be noted that during whole of the competition, Istanbul side did provide good game including during 4:1 loss to Manchester United since aiming to show its best game and this been possible mainly due of not having too much pressure put on them during those games. Playing at home, even without supporters does provide some advantage as it did United game 2 weeks ago and belief from players and aiming to show strong confident game could get surprising result as bonus.

Basaksehirspor task to get into knockout stage seems to be tough one but with focussing to show positive strong game could provide some unexpected suprising result as long it focusses into own game.

Denizlispor will continue with Kenan Atik as head coach role.

Denizlispor CEO Ali Cetin has announced that caretaking coach Kenan Atik, who has been appointed to position following firing Robert Prosinecki would be continuing as head coach position.

Hence, Denizlispor administration provided full trust to the Atik with both how he did his job so far in such position more memorable with turning back of Basaksehirspor game from 3:0 to 3:3 and also possibly not finding replacement in this period. Still, providing such trust to Atik is being right move as he has been within club for some time right now and is familiar both with expectations, aims and players despite of not much experience in such level. Giving positive view from previous game, he would not be having easy period but does have all opportunities to get some good results in upcoming weeks for sure.

This for sure would be crucial test for him for upcoming weeks as he does to raise side from bottom of the league spots but if he gets enough trust he can achieve it.

Football games are likely to continue despite of curfew.

With professional sportsmen are not included in the list of expenses from curfew in Turkey which would take in weekdays from 21:00 to 05:00 and weekend curfew, there been question about fate of the league in this period.

Right now, Turkish football community continues training session behaving that games would be playe during weekend quite possibly rightly as there rumours that leagues would continue in those desperate times. In fact, no announcement from any bodies could be seen as good news as been noted football community acts in normal circumstances right now. Contuining games meanwhile is unlikely to affect football health as precautions are taken and lockdown of some parts could in fact be seen positive aspect as it would reduce players getting Covid19 as most did outside of field.

There is still expectation for official statement which our blog would keep in touch for sure.
