What happened in Turkish football today? 29/08/2019

Trabzonspor has qualified even through it did provide scare during home game.

Trabzonspor has managed to qualify to Europa League group stage during play-off round against AEK Athens even through it didnt use its home ground advantage at the game by losing with 2:0 scoreline but thanks to hat-trick from Calub Ekuban during 1st leg has managed to get to next stage.

It was expected that Trabzonspor would be approaching to the game in pretty calm manner thanks to scoreline from 1st leg but despite of that it has shown too much calmness at the beginning of game which has provided much more focus and performance from AEK Athens. This attacking game has led for AEK Athens to find 2 goals back-to-back and have around one hour to find a winning goal. Thanks to 2nd goal from AEK Athens by Mantolas, it has started showing much more careful game and prevent AEK even through opponent has dominated game. Meanwhile, also not very good play by Greek side on 1st leg has possibly led Trabzonspor to treat this game in much more calmer manner. Trabzonspor has been into urge of being relagated and even through it has right to celebrate to get to group stage it should take lessons from this game as this calmness could provide many costs both at the league and Europa League for rest of the season.

Looking at the perspective of AEK Athens it would be feeling without doubt to be unlucky side as it has been one who has shown strong and attacking game from start to an end and has found 2 important goals. Its poor performance during 1st leg for sure has cost side relegation from Europa League for sure.

Trabzonspor as been mentioned has been one who was risking during game and would now treat such scare experience for rest of the season and with team being mainly of young players it would be great lesson for them.

Galatasaray would be seeing Kayserispor game as turning point following poor start of the season.

Galatasaray would be aiming to end its poor start of the season with Super League 3rd week game against Kayserispor who also has provided pretty dissapointing start of the season but still can be difficult opponent at its home ground.

With Galatasaray not providing a view that it is entirely ready for this season and more focussed into transfer of Radamel Falcao, has led team performance also down with some pressure likely at feeling as season has started. Kayserispor game is for sure good opportunity for a team to provide much better performance compare to 1st two weeks of this season but as been stated above it would not be an easy game for them at all as Kayserispor would also see this game as good opportunity to turn around its poor performance and get support from its own supporters. Without doubt both teams would also like to enter to the international team break with high motivation and regain confidence which could be lacking following this poor results.

Galatasaray with such poor start of the season mentally would see this game as turning point but it is also crucial for team to provide that view at the field.

Genclerbirligi has transferred Mattias Bjorsmanyr for 1-year.

Genclerbirligi has transferred Mattias Bjorsmanyr for 1-year due of player being 33-year old but it needs to be stated that despite of age it did get an important defender at its disposal as team would be aiming to start having some good results.

With transfer window is getting closer to be closed and we are entering to last days, most of the clubs certainly are aiming to make its strong additions to its team and it could be stated that with taking account economical conditions of Genclebrirligi, it did get some good transfer of defender as Bjarsmyr is likely to provide trust and much more secure factor at its defensive side as it didnt provide good performance at this season so far. With international national team break coming up and Bjarsmyr not joining national team, he would also have some good time to get adapted to the team prior to league to be resumed.

Therefore, this transfer could be seen as good one for Genclerbirligi and would likely to solve issues at the back at least a bit for upcoming games.
