What happened in Turkish football today? 17/08/2019

Besiktas has shown bad start to season after losing to Sivasspor with 3:0 scoreline.

Besiktas had the worst start of Super League 2019-20 season it can dream of as it has lost to Sivasspor with 3:0 scoreline and didnt provide much of pleasant game at the attacking game and hence leading for Abdullah Avci to have pretty poor start at his new club.

Even through Besiktas did come out with huge disadvantage to the game as it was missing high number of its key players due of injury with main one being Burak Yilmaz and it wasnt expected for Besiktas to show top level football, it wasnt expected for team to show such poor performance without having any upper hand. It needs to be noted that team didnt have strong connection during playing time and lack of understanding and to some extend has provided to similar perspective to Galatasaray on previous night without being fully ready for new season. Right now, Besiktas head coach Abdullah Avci would be hoping for his key players to be ready as soon as possible so he can reach to level of performance which he would be aiming at. Meanwhile, one moment of the game between Tyler Boyd and Sivasspor goalkeeper Samatta at the end of 1st half has been among most worrying moment and its reported Samatta is currently at hospital going for checkup as he lost conscience after impact.

Sivasspor has provided very strong and confident performance without allowing Besiktas to play its game and most important has shown game as it aimed for with 2nd half dominating game and getting upper hand. Apart of getting well-deserved win it has also made clear that it would be among teams to look out for this season.

Besiktas has provided some worrying image with losing with scoreline like 3:0 and didnt provide promising view after this game and it would need to go through mistakes it has made during game.

Galatasaray doesnt look to be ready for this season yet.

Galatasaray has showed pretty dissapointing performance during its openning game of 2019-20 season as it has lost to Denizlispor with 2:0 scoreline and looked as the side which is not yet ready for this season.

Being among teams which didnt manage to make as much transfers as it would have liked and hence didnt change its squad, its been among one of the sides which were among curiousity of how it would perform. Being one of the main candidates for league title,it needs to be stated that it has shown poor performance despite of starting game in very good form and did have some opportunities. Prior to penalty kick and also Marcao 2nd yellow card, it did get Denizlispor which didnt get into game and had some chances but as game has been developed, Denizlispor become more into game and has got an upper hand scoring 2 goals at the end of 2nd half. Hence, Galatasaray has provided poor performance both with individuals and as team and would need to study this loss during this week.

Galatasaray needs to see this game as wake up call and aim to get into level of performance which is expected from them if it doesnt want to lose points agaisnt Konyaspor next week.

Trabzonspor would be aiming to have great start to new season.

With showing high level performance against Sparta Prague at Europa League 3rd qualifying round, it needs to be stated that Trabzonspor would be coming out to Kasimpasa game at openning week of Super League new season with high concentration and motivation.

Among main title contenders of this season, it needs to be noted that Trabzonspor without doubt for now are being most ready team as it has played 2 tough games and has got into level which it would be seeking for. With Trabzonspor having pretty young and modest squad, and even if side doesnt state it directly, it is pretty sure that team would be starting new season with an aim to fight for league title and to give that message it would be aiming to show high level performance against Kasimpasa. Kasimpasa in their own hand will not give this game easily but without doubt Trabzonspor would be coming out as favourites for game and will be aiming to show performance which is related to that factor.

Trabzonspor are aiming to have good start and would be expected to provide forward seeking creative game against Kasimpasa.
