Genclerbirligi legendary CEO Ilhan Cavcav would be remembered during upcoming season.
Turkish Football Federation has announced that upcoming season would be named after Genclerbirligi long-term CEO Ilhan Cavcav who have passed away earlier this year. Ilhan Cavcav has been taken legendary place both at the Genclerbirligi and whole Turkish football during his reign.
As it is known in recent years Turkish Football Federation has been naming its past seasons for the name of the great personalities who has got a great place in history of the Turkish football. Death of the Ilhan Cavcav has shocked not only whole Genclerbirligi community but everyone who is involved with football, sports or even whole Turkish community. Therefore, it should be seen expected and needs to be praised by TFF decision to remember its season in the name of such great name who has made great transfer deals and to some extend has introduced African players to the Turkish football, the factor which has been taken place at Turkish football even nowadays.
The following season would also likely provide an extra motivation for Genclerbirligi and even through quite naturally talking about league title might be far-fetched for them it could lead them to end next season at top half of the table once again.
Gael Clichy is very happy to join Basaksehirspor.
Basaksehirspor has officially signed Manchester City player Gael Clichy during today's signature ceremony where player has signed 3-year contract and has stated that he is very happy to be joining this team.
During ceremony, Gael Clichy did admit that both Galatasaray and Fenerbahce did show some interest to him but the way Basaksehirspor has treated negotiations has led him to be closer to the team and with taking account the aims of the side it wasnt hard to him to make choice. He also said that he really likes Istanbul. In addition, he referred Basaksehirspor as small Manchester City as the team is improving by each season and has only missed both league titles and Turkish cup just at the end of the season. In short, he showed great satisfaction at joining this team and is highly motivated for next season.
Basaksehirspor among other teams during this summer transfer window has shown active action for transfers and at making their squad much stronger and Clichy are among players who will lead team to go forward during next season.
Malaga has made principal agreement with Cenk Gonen.
With selling its player Carlos Kameni to Fenerbahce,Malaga has focussed into working with transfers for taking his replacements of goalkeeper and it has found such an replacement also in Turkey as it had made deal with Galatasaray player Cenk Gonen.
According to both Spanish and Turkish sports media, Malaga has made principal agreement with Cenk Gonen and the transfer is expected to be announced officially in short period of time. When leaving Besiktas Cenk Gonen has stated that he would be going to the team where he would be playing as number 1 goalkeeper but interestingly enough he has joined Galatasaray where he naturally became 2nd man after Fernando Muslera and has only played 8 games during last season. With joining Malaga he would be able to get number 1 spot as long as he does show his great performance as he is being one of the goalkeepers in Turkish football who has lots of potentiality but had problems at reaching it.
Malaga would likely provide him more playing time compare to his previous teams and would be able likely to get lots of experience while playing at La Liga.
