Galatasaray performance against Ostersunds is full of dissapointment.
Galatasaray start of the 2017-18 season and at the Europa League has been with full of dissapointment both in the sense of the scoreline and performance as it has lost to the Ostersunds during Europa League 2nd qualifying round 1st leg game.
Even through it needs to be reminded that team has come out with almost without any attacker as Younes Belhanda has been injured during pre-season friendly game and also with some other disadvantages it has the loss with 2:0 scoreline needless to say is unexpectable. Even through team has shown very good transfers during this summer window so far and has managed to provide pretty good pre-season friendly games it is visible that this factors didnt provide much concentration and focus towards Ostersunds game from them. Galatasaray is capable with quality factor and also playing at home next week to turn the game around as it needs to win at least 3:0 but this performance does provide lots of worries of even having worser season for 2017-18 season. Surely, team needs lots of revision at the team in the mentality aspect, factor which been discussed a lot by this blog last season.
Galatasaray would either meet with Inter Baku or Fola Echt during 3rd qualifying round as Azeri side has won 1st leg game with 1:0 scoreline but as been mentioned its not even clear if it would manage to overpass Ostersunds in 2nd leg.
Basaksehirspor has been drawn with Club Brugge at Champions League 3rd qualifying round.
Basaksehirspor has found its opponent during Champions League 3rd qualifying round as it would make its 1st game against Belgian side on either 25-26th July and it needs to be stated that it has been drawn with one of the easiest team available at the draw.
Following the draw in fact Basaksehirspor head coach Abdullah Avci and CEO Goksel Gumusdag has stated that their were expecting either to meet with Club Brugge and Viktoria Plzen. It needs to be stated that as team Club Brugge did have some experience at Champions League proper but as with most of the Belgian clubs at recent years this experience wasnt among best. It needs to be stated that Club Brugge does have an important advantage by having experience at Europe, but apart that
Basaksehirspor does come out as favourite especially with looking at the squads and only important issue is for Basaksehirspor important transfers to get adapted to the team in 2 weeks time. Even through Basaksehirspor last season journey in Europe was dissapointing it can top on that this season.
Of course, if Basaksehirspor manages to get through Club Brugge it would at worst be at the Europa League which is important achievement for a team.
Fenerbahce would play against either Sturm Graz or Mladeslav Boreslav at Europa League qualifier.
Another team which has found its opponent at European tournaments has been Fenerbahce which would rather meet with Sturm Graz or Mladeslav Boreslav at Europa League 3rd qualifying round.
With taking account about levels of the team, it doesnt really matter which team Fenerbahce would be drawn with as it expects to win both of them during 3rd qualyfing round but still it needs to be stated that following 2nd qualifying round 1st leg games Mladeslav has won with 1:0 and hence are one step closer to be Fenerbahce opponent. Stating that Fenerbahce is going through big revisions and friendly games so far has provided some worry as it has lost both games with specific unexpectaincy coming from Juventus Bucharest. Even through frienlies always been not good referrals at the team levels for season, losing them does show it does have some important issues. In fact losing shows things not right while winning are more or less meaningless. Hence, its just important for a team to get into winning mood until 27th July which seems to be lacking currently.
Right now Fenerbahce has only option to keep on training at pre-season training camp and wait for to be clear who are their opponents.
