Super League 2017-18 promise to be very exciting season.
Turkish Football Federation has organised draw of the Super League 2017-18 season with one month left until start of the long-awaited season. It needs to be stated that with transfers made around Super League teams, and with more of them to come, the following season promises to be with full excitement where Besiktas would aim for 3rd title back-to-back.
Even through it would become more clear as soon as league starts, the league promises to be taking with full of excitement. For league title it does look to be taken with 5 teams fighting for league title with Besiktas aiming to make back-to-back title for 3rd time, Galatasaray get into glory days which it was far during last 2 seasons, Fenerbahce aiming to win its 1st title since 2014, Trabzonspor aiming for glorious performance for its 50th anniversary and Basaksehirspor showing that last season performance was not accident. Among those 5 teams, Antalyaspor promises to be a surprise team and even through its aiming for Europa League it can have at some moment during league to fight for even leadership with its squad. Even through those 6 teams are accepted to be ones at the top, other 12 teams will not make their task easy one and we could have all-round exciting league.
Of course, those expectations come from statements from players and coaches and even more from squads at the paper of each team and are pretty reasonable expectations but as said above it would become more clear when games will start on 11th August.
Besiktas has terminated contract with Gokhan Inler.
Besiktas has terminated contract with its player Gokhan Inler after 1 season as the player wasnt able to recieve lots of playing time and didnt fulfill his level in the past season.
It was expected that Gokhan Inler would be able to provide a top performance to the team and even through it needs to be noted that during past season he did show good start he wasnt able to carry it on as the season progressed. This transfer could also show that Besiktas which so far has only transferred Pepe in this summer, could be start focussing into more transfers even through terminating contract rather than selling doesnt help with FFP regulations set by UEFA. Again, even through its clear why contract was terminated, Inler didnt have a very bad season and it would be understandably if he stayed next season.
Interestingly, Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes did state at press conference yesterday that he wasnt aware about Gokhan Inler leaving the team but again he reminded that transfer business has been mainly done by team administrators.
Galatasaray are close to transfer Sevilla player Mariono.
Galatasaray are reported to make transfer deal with Sevilla player Mariono as the club has offered 4.4 million euro to the team as transfer fee for 3-years contract. Galatasaray is reported to aim to use factor that team is on edge of limit of international players at its squad at Sevilla.
Galatasaray carries on being an active side during this transfer window and right now its aiming to transfer Mariono who could strength its midfield as he had shown his level of performance at the Sevilla during past seasons. The side so far does have have transfer season and did strength their side, even through ending possibly contract with Wesley Sneijder could lead them an issue. Saying that there is lots of criticism that transfers so far by Istanbul side are towards wrong areas, but Mariono does look to be on target as their do have some issues at that area of the side last season.
Mariono if he does join, which seems to be almost certain at the time of writing, could help Galatasaray to provide better performance during game and make attacks more effective.
