Ostersunds provided surprise result against Galatasaray at Europa League 2nd qualifier.
Galatasaray had recieved a surprising loss to the Swedish opponents Ostersunds during Europa League 2nd qualifying round 1st leg game as it was coming as favourite especially during with new transfers and good mood following pre-season training camp.
Apart of losing game with 2:0 scoreline in Sweden, it also has trouble to control game which could be affected by the field and cold weather as without doubt its opponent has used advantages which it had prior to game into its own hand. It was observed especially until conceding 1st goal that Galatasaray had trouble at controlling ball and was pretty far from its usual performance and did provide some worry for the upcoming season especially taking account that it does have a risk of being eliminated earlier at the competition which it had set big aims at. Of course, to all respect to Ostersunds which it deserves from today's game, Galatasaray would play in different circumstances at 2nd leg game in Istanbul and has strength to turn this tie around.
It was known prior to game that Ostersunds have been excited for today game as it was their 1st game against big team. But the way Swedish side has played it could be seen that their were seen better side and hence deserved a win.
Galatasaray as been mentioned with turning 2nd leg home game into its own advantage still have chance to get to the 3rd qualifying round but it does have difficult task and needs to improve a lot for 2nd leg to be taken place next week.
Roma has purchased Basaksehirspor player Cengiz Under for 15 million euro.
Battle to purchase Basaksehirspor player Cengiz Under between Roma and Manchester City as his team has shown some refusal to sell him has been won at the end of the day by Roma which as club seem to be satisfied for this transfer to take place.
As been mentioned before at our blog, the transfer negotiations from the start has been mainly dominated by Basaksehirspor as it firstly has stated that Cengiz Under is worth a lot of money and secondly it wont be sold to 1st team which comes with offer. Roma with their 13 million euro transfer offer has provided an offer which could not be refused to the Basaksehirspor. It could be argued that Istanbul side did lose a very important player at its squad but with such a cash it can purchase a very good replacement for him both in Turkey and in Europe or carry on investing into its academy. Without doubt another winner of this transfer is being Cengiz Under himself as he would be able to go to strong side as he would be entering 20-year old and able to make an important step in his career.
Roma has made an important transfer also as it would be able to use a player for future aims with the chance for him to develop into good player for upcoming years with his young age.
Basaksehirspor are interested to transfer Mevlut Erdinc and Gokhan Inler
Meanwhile, it does look like that Basaksehirspor start arleady looking for his replacement as their are reports that the team are interested to transfer Besiktas ex-player Gokhan Inler and Metz player Mevlut Erdinc.
Focussing into Turkish players who has also good experience at European football is actually smart move as it able to raise into quality its side but same times stay in contingency and also carry on focussing into Turkish players. As it is remembered, Gokhan Inler contract has been terminated only few days ago as he wasnt able to fulfill his expectations. However, at Basaksehirspor, where he is likely to get more important role if transfer happens and be able to provide better performance in similar manner as did Mustafa Pektemek did during last season. Basaksehirspor with playing at Champions League qualifiers and possibly and more likely at Europa League group stage in upcoming season does need to make their squad to be successful both in league and in Europe.
Basaksehirspor has real chance to become good team next season and get in top of previous season and it aims on that with watching how their summer transfer window goes on so far.
