What happened in Turkish football today? 30.10.2016

Referee has helped Fenerbahce to gain motivation boost prior to Manchester United game.

Fenerbahce has managed get a confident win against Karabukspor during Super League 9th week with the great performance by the Robin van Persie and also help from referee Firat Aydinus who gave red card to the Karabukspor player Ceyhun Gulselam prior to the penalty of Robin van Persie.

It needs to state however that it was known that Fenerbahce was focussing to get a win in today's game against tough opponent and get into winning mood for upcoming games. It could be argued that Fenerbahce would still win the game but the referee has surely made their task easier as Karabukspor performance against Galatasaray and Besiktas during this season has proven that their tough opponents. One of the key parts of the game has been also goal by Aatif Chacheouhue who had a tough season at the Fenerbahce which could be seen from his reaction at the end of the game, where he showed big relief.  Among Chacehouhue there was also hard-worked and deserved goal scored by defender Martin Skrtel from get assist from Robin van Persie. However, the key player of the game has been by the Robin van Persie who possibly has provided great game since joining the team and personally and to the team has raised motivation and confidence to the team.

Karabukspor meanwile has certainly been unlucky with red card from Ceyhun Gulselam which raised loss of concentration to the team and hence allowed them to provide poor performance in most of the time. As been stated, Fenerbahce would probably win game but we could have watched much more exciting game.

Fenerbahce has gained huge motivation and confidence which it urgently needed against Europa League 4th week game against Manchester United at the 3rd November and would certainly aim for win at that crucial game.

Trabzonspor failed to build on from motivation gained from last week.

Following win against Galatasaray in the last week and poor performance at the Turkish Cup against Corlu Belediyespor there was a big expectation from Trabzonspor to provide good performance against Rizespor but despite of getting into leadership twice during the game it has ended game with 2:2 scoreline.

Trabzonspor has played the game in attacking style however didnt manage to dominate game from start to end which seems to be one of the biggest issues at the team of this season. Stating that however, it still did find two goals at the game which is an improvement but once again it had some issues at the defence, which led Leonard Kweuke to deny 3 crucial games against them. It was very important to win this game to carry on good mood at the league but it has failed to do so and once again showing that team does have issues such as confidence and motivation, and has only provide top class defensive game against Galatasaray during this season. As been stated previously, Trabzonspor head coach Ersun Yanal needs to motivate the team.

Meanwhile, Rizespor was also focussed to the game showing that it was aiming for a win or at least not to lose it which it had showed at this performance. Rizespor is capable of providing top football and to some extend this start is dissapointing for them but its positive football good help them in upcoming weeks.

Trabzonspor would play an important game next week against Besiktas and would surely this game in equal importance as Galatasaray due of motivation boost and would try to win game. However, Besiktas game would be much tougher for Trabzonspor.

Galatasaray didnt impress with performance despite of 3 points against Adanaspor.

Despite of winning against Adanaspor during Super League 9th week game against Adanaspor with 1:0 scoreline, Galatasaray has failed to provide very impressive game and had issues at creating dangerous chances despite of dominating the game.

In fact apart of the scoreline, Galatasaray has provided a similar performance as it did against Trabzonspor during the last week and does show a view that it has downside of its performance. It needs to be remembered and to all respect to the Adanaspor, that they are among weakest teams at the league and hence this performance is not acceptable by top team like Galatasaray. It does show signs it would have number of issues at upcoming weeks. Once again however Galatasaray player Bruma, who scored all 4 goals this season at away games, has saved day for the Istanbul giant team and with Besiktas losing at the game against Genclerbirligi did get 1 point closer against one of the opponents, even through it keep 3 point difference with leaders of Basaksehirspor.

In fact, Galatasaray would meet against Basaksehirspor on 4th Novemeber during 10th week of the Super League which surely would be game of the upcoming weekend and result of the game would surely phase how league would carry on for both teams.

Galatasaray has got 3 points against tough Adanaspor away game.

Galatasaray had pretty tough game against Adanaspor during Super League 9th week game where it has won game with great show by Bruma who have scored all of the goals from away games this season.

Following the loss against Trabzonspor in last week and comfortable win at Turkish Cup against Dersimspor it was quite naturally expected that Galatasaray would provide much more attacking football against Adanaspor but for most of the time it was having trouble at creating dangerous attacks, yet to have chance to score goals. It needs to be stated that Adanaspor did provide strong defence but Galatasaray high number of passes actually to some prevented them to find goal. The key role has been played by Bruma at the 70th minute, who have scored 4 goal at this season all of them being scored at away games. The great shot straight to goal has led Adanaspor to provide good reaction despite of touching the ball. Galatasaray head coach Jan Olde Riekerink prior to game did state that problem of last touch and this has been visible at the game today.

Adanaspor head coach Krunoslav  Jurevic prior to game did state that his aim would be defend against Galatasaray and for most part of the team it did succeed that without allowing to create much chances to their opponents. Fenerbahce will aim to win back-to-back games with winning Karabukspor.

Fenerbahce would surely aim to win against Karabukspor tomorrow at the Super League 9th week game and aim to start winning streak at the Super League with a good chance to become closer to the leaders with Besiktas losing two points yesterday and with Basaksehirspor possibility of losing point.

Of course, the league has only been played around 1/4 of the season and being 8 points behind the leaders still could be reduced due of early days of the season even through it is hard to achieve that. But best way to succeed that is obviously to get results themselves and therefore it would surely aim to get win. The players even through still not performing its best performance do seem to be focussed into providing good game and will be focussed for sure to get a win. The win against Karabukspor would also aim to get right motivation and confidence prior to Europa League 4th week game against Manchester United on 3rd November.

However, it will not be an easy game as Karabukspor did show good performance about big teams and in general and hence their do need to stay focus and aim for best football at its ground.

Besiktas has got 1 point from Genclerbirligi without providing great game.

Super League opening 9th week game between Besiktas and Genclerbirligi has been ended with 1:1 draw where the game could be analysed as game of two halves where Genclerbirligi has controlled game while Besiktas 2nd half performance was more closer to their usual performance.

In overall, the game was played at slow tempo which is been unusual for Besiktas especially with 1st half where it didnt seem to get into the game, possibly mentally being at the Champions League 4th week game against Napoli  which would be played on 1st November. In fact, the turning point of the game has been entrance of Vincent Aboubakar in start of the 2nd half, which has speeded up game for Besiktas. One of the memorable moments was misunderstanding between Besiktas goalkeeper Fabiano and Luis Rhodolfo which allowed for Genclerbirligi to score into the empty goal by Sinan Gurler. Genclerbirligi has surely carried on good performance but Besiktas has shown its usual performance with finding goal by the Talisca in 51st minute. Apart of scoring that goal Besiktas has carried on good performance with trying to find a goal during the game including chances by Aboubakar.

Genclerbirligi has provided a very good game during 1st half with better football and it could have find even more goals but with lacking of quality has affected to this possibility. Still it needs to be stated that Genclerbirligi has provided a good game and this performance could give important points against mediocre teams in upcoming weeks.

Besiktas didnt provide its best game and could even lost the game so it did save one point to some extend even through it did lose good chances towards the end of the game. It did recieve however good motivation and same time recognise some issues prior to important game against Napoli at Champions League on 1st November.

Galatasaray are not expected to have big issues against Adanaspor.

Following a comfortable win against Dersimspor at the Turkish Cup 3rd round game, Galatasaray would return to the Super League with a game against Adanaspor at which it is expected also to get a good result.

Galatasaray despite of loss to the Trabzonspor still experiences a good season and surely would very likely to show its superiority from this season newcomers Adanaspor as it would play against them at the Super League after 12 years. Adanaspor head coach Krunoslav Jurcic has stated himself prior to game that their main aim will be to focus on defence as it is too risky to go forward against such a team. As it is known Galatasaray players Wesley Sneijder and Hakan Balta will not be able to play at the game due of precaution reasons since their had injuries recently. Sunderland wants to keep Jeremain Lens after he returns from Fenerbahce loan.

It became clear that Sunderland are not expected to sell its player Jeremain Lens in low price following his successful loan experience this season at Istanbul club.

According to Turkish media, Fenerbahce has contacted to Sunderland about purchase of Lens to which Sunderland stated that he is performing better this season and his cost is raised to 11 million pound. Taking this into account, Sunderland states that it would only sell him to the Fenerbahce with this amount cash without any reduction. Even through Turkish media has stated that this is unexpected response from English club, it is actually normal reaction as the team is happy with his performance and have no intention to lose player who is back at his top performance. As it was case with Mario Gomez at Besiktas last season, and taking account loan deals around the world, his high performance at the team does mainly damage to the team rather than advantage.

If Fenerbahce wants to keep him for next season it needs to find ways to find this cash without affecting its FFP agreement or it would have issues when his loan period ends at the Fenerbahce.

Trabzonspor needs to make effective transfers in winter if it wants to have strong alternative squad.

Trabzonspor has had surprisingly tough time against Corum Belediyespor at the Turkish Cup 3rd round game from which it has been almost elimanated from during daytime game in the Corum.

The fact that Trabzonspor has had such difficult time against 3rd league opponent is especially surprising taking account that it has provided an important win against Galatasaray at the Super League 8th week game. However, in other hand one of the reasons for team to recieve such a difficult time against Corum Belediyespor was a reminder that their do have a limited alternative team as the squad during the game has been playing with players who dont recieve enough game time during this season at the Super League. As been mentioned at the yesterday blog, Trabzonspor only way to solve this is to make effective mid-season transfer window and as it is know the club is interested to transfer Borussia Dortmund player Nuri Sahin and Spartak Moscow Serdar Tasci. Those players are surely into the level to make club go ahead and perform if their will join team in January.

It does look like with this current squad Trabzonspor would have unstable season and when starting 11 players would get injured it would have big issues if their dont do right transfers in the winter.

Besiktas could have tough times against motivated Genclerbirligi. 

Besiktas would play against one of the toughest opponents of this season, Genclerbirligi at the Super League 9th week with having an advantage of not playing at the Turkish Cup compare to their opponents and hence be ready to the game in better way and mood.

Antalyaspor needs to raise motivation and performance if it wants to have good season.

Antalyaspor has recieved biggest surprise from this year Turkish Cup 3rd round game with losing to amateur regional league team Afyonspor 1923 with 1:0 scoreline without providing much active football which was eye-pleasing to the fans.

This game to some extend does identify the whole season of club which has only gained 3 points from this season and is been seen as the weakest team so far at the Super League. It has lost its performance from last season which even through didnt let them to end at high place at the table still got some eye-catching and positive reviews. The morale of the team seems to be especially low and as usual best solution is to get motivational and get job seriously. Earlier this season Riza Calimbay has been appointed to a team to raise this mood but it could be especially difficult with current situation. Another point is it needs to stop throwing blame to referees as it usually only does damage and reduces time to find their own mistakes from game.

Antalyaspor has squad at which it can provide better perforance but it needs to be motivated by Calimbay to improve performances by the players or it would have very tough season.

Trabzonspor almost been elimanated from cup at the game where it was expected to win comfortably.

Trabzonspor had a surprsing tough time against 3rd league team Corum Belediyespor during Turkish Cup 3rd round game which was also last stage until start of the group stage. The game which was expected to be not giving too much trouble, has ended with an extra-goal by Oktay Yokuslu from Trabzonspor as game progressed in scenario it didnt expect.

Trabzonspor as was expected was playing with a 2nd team during the game but even taking that account there was expectation that it would end game with a confident win but quite opposite it has ended 1st half of the game with losing game with 1:0 scoreline. Trabzonspor did improve its performance during 2nd half of the game but still it took team 85 minutes to find its goal from player N'Doye which led for extra-time where it had controlled game and has developed for Oktay Yokuslu to find a winning goal at 102nd minute with providing such big pressure. Despite of being able to get to the group stage of the tournament, Trabzonspor didnt manage to carry on that spirit it got from winning Galatasaray at the weekend and does show that it has pretty weak 2nd squad who had trouble to win comfortably against team which is 4-tier lower at the league compare to them. This game will raise lots of question for the Trabzonspor head coach Ersun Yanal.

Corum Belediyespor meanwhile has shown very good game with literally being only 5 minutes to provide one of the biggest shocks of this year Turkish Cup by almost beating Trabzonspor. It should feel happy for this performance and take an important experience.

Trabzonspor does show with this game however that it does have serious issues especially with substitutes and hence its need to take account some transfers at the mid-season break.

Galatasaray gets motivation boost from easy win against Dersimspor.

Compare to Trabzonspor, Galatasaray had much easier task at the Turkish Cup 3rd round game against Dersimspor where it had won game with 5:1 scoreline.

This game was surely was most important for Lukas Podolski who has managed to get hat-trick at the game and provide his focus of once again scoring which could be very useful for the team and himself. Meanwhile, as Jan Olde Riekerink has stated himself following the game it was important for side to provide 100% focus to the game which always seems to be lacking in games likes that. Galatasaray has managed to do that and has regained motivation and confidence boost following dissapointing result against Trabzonspor in the last weekend.

Fenerbahce ex-administrator Ali Koc has announced that he would be running for the Fenerbahce CEO position whenever elections would be called and hence sending strong message to the

Even through, Ali Koc did state that he is not calling for early election and would be running for position whenever elections takes place, it is sending message for early election to take place. Also, as would been remembered, Fenerbahce CEO Aziz Yildirim has stated that people who want to be CEO should state so this is also certainly response by Koc. Ali Koc is been respected at the Fenerbahce for very long time especially during match-fixing investigation where Koc has took strong stance with his strong messages to the media. It is even expected that Fenerbahce fans would fill stadium for this weekend game against Karabukspor because he is called for fans to do so in same speech when he announced his candidacy.

Galatasaray has started its defence of Turkish Cup with 5:1 win against Dersimspor.

Galatasaray has started its campaign for defending its Turkish Cup with a confident 5:1 win against 3rd league team Dersimspor and has secured its place for group stage. The game has been mainly dominated by hat-trick of Lukas Podolski.

Galatasaray among scoring goals has also created high number of the chances as the game progressed and has shown its superiority against weaker side as was expected with Lukas Podolski providing his best play in this season and has shown that he could become one of the key players at the team for upcoming games. Dersimspor as expected didnt provide any scare to the Galatasaray and it is very likely that Galatasaray has got the easiest win for this whole season and would now focus for the group stage where it is not expected to have much difficult games, even through it is expected for certain to be at the last 16 stage. With Galatasaray focussing also league title at this season it  is tough to say how serious would team take Turkish Cup this season and this result should be taken at the side their do but it does show how focussed team is now.

Dersimspor was coming out to the with losing arleady 1:0 before kickoff for sure and this game was mainly due for team to get an experience and learn some lessons from top side. It surely did that and apart of scoring towards end didnt provide a lot of positive view at the game.

Galatasaray has surely got an important win and regained its confidence after loss to Trabzonspor in the league and now would focus into getting good results at the Super League this weekend for sure, playing against Adanaspor.

Fenerbahce has set a target to win the game and not focus to much into performance.

Fenerbahce main aim during yesterday's Super League 8th week game against Konyaspor was to win
the game without focussing how it would achieve that. With this aim it has achieved exactly that with its poor performance with only finding goal at the penalty scored by Emmanuel Emenike at middle of 1st half.

In fact, other dangerous attack by Fenerbahce during whole game was the chance by the Robin van Persie where he had hit the goal post and later has provided 2 weak headers in the same attack. As been mentioned earlier, Fenerbahce has mainly allowed Konyaspor to control the game especially after Emenike goal and was focussed to play safe football. Fenerbahce head coach Dick Advocaat has stated after game that even through it wasnt way of football which was suitable to the team, it was important to play like that as their is risk of conceding goal in counter attacks. This kind of play in fact once again makes it clear that team has some issues at the midfield area which it would surely aim to fix during mid-season transfer window. It is just important for Fenerbahce to build with this win in upcoming games.

Overall, it wasnt impressive game by the Fenerbahce but it had achieved its target as sometimes its more important to win games rather than focussing how game has been won.

Trabzonspor would aim to keep its motivation in game against Corum Belediyespor.

Trabzonspor will restart its Turkish Cup campaign with the 3rd league 2nd place team Corum  Belediyespor at the 3rd stage which would decide which team would get to the group stage of the cup.

Fenerbahce has won an important game against Konyaspor.

Fenerbahce has won very important away game against Konyaspor during Super League 8th week despite of playing very poorly in attacking and to some extend being lucky during game, but it has provided very good defensive game against its opponents.

The game in fact wasnt played at very high excitement with lack of the attacks due of strong defence by the Fenerbahce as Konyaspor has dominated and controlled game even more successfully. To some extend Fenerbahce did play game which was similar to the last year Vitor Pereira style of play as it found single goal and later has focussed into defensive, even through this is not very attacking and exciting game which is suitable for a team like Fenerbahce it still got a result which it was seeking for especially now as it was going tough times. Dick Advocaat in fact has stated after game that he was unhappy with this style of game but it was needed for this game especially. Meanwhile, Robin van Persie didnt manage to score at 3 chances back to back with hitting post at first position and later with two headers, which was dissapointing taking account his level of game.

Konyaspor meanwhile has performed a good game but has lacked of creativity at the front which led only one shot into target despite of controlling game in posession. It has also complaint about a lot of Martin Skrtel position at the penalty area but it was too some extend arguable possession as it could been hitted him in natural way.

Fenerbahce has very important game in a similar way as did Trabzonspor agaisnt Galatasaray on Saturday which to some extend has put this two place still at the race of league title even through still having tough times. Besiktas carries on impressive performance at the Super League.

Besiktas has provided confident win against Antalyaspor during Super League 8th week game with 3:0 scoreline and has shown that it recieved high motivation from 3:2 win against Napoli at the midweek during Champions League.

Besiktas did provide very impressive game despite of having some trouble times with top performance by the Antalyaspor who has showed their character during game even after their player Diego has recieved red card due of intense arguments given to the referee decision to give goal of Vincent Aboubakar, arguing that the goal was illegitimate due of foul in start of attack. It needs to be stated that very likely Besiktas would still won game as been stated yesterday in blog but it would be as simple as it was yesterday. In fact Besiktas had tough time around until 75th minute but after that it became visible that Antalyaspor has become tired which allowed them to get easy win with following scoreline. Only bad news from yesterday game was injury of Caner Erkin whose injury is reported to take place at least for 6 months due of seriousness but team is determined to recover him as soon as possible. Otherwise, it was good night for them.

Besiktas is now sharing first spot with Basaksehirspor who carries on its impressive record and Istanbul side making it clear that it has no intention to slow down now.

Galatasaray will start its defence of Turkish Cup againt Dersimspor.

Galatasaray will start its campaign for defending its last Turkish Cup title at the 3rd round of the competition against 3rd league team Dersimspor at the game which is expected to get an easy and confident win.

This game could be a great chance to regain its motivation at the home ground with the support of the fans even through their not expected to be full house as it was against Trabzonspor and also Galatasaray will not play with its main squad and is likely to provide more substitute chance and provide chance for the youngsters. Besiktas carried its performance after win Napoli even if it got help from referee.

Besiktas has won very important game against Antalyaspor during Super League 8th week with 3:0 scoreline with the small help of the referee, Baris Simsek where he didnt take foul prior to 1st goal which led for Antalyaspor player Diego to recieve red card for the arguments.

Besiktas has shown great reaction following impressive win against Napoli with 3:2 scoreline at the Champions League and to addition of Galatasaray losing game yesterday against Trabzonspor has given extra motivation to fight for top spot with Basaksehirspor. With the support of the fans which has allowed Besiktas to dominate game however even more the decision by the referee for this game to turn into such a way which was red card for Antalyaspor Diego following Vincent Aboubakar goal at the end of 1st half. The decision before goal was not 100% clear foul to Besiktas player but it was still there and it was quite natural for Antalyaspor to provide such reaction. Reaction by the referee was overdone by giving red card and it was sadly unfair for Antalyaspor and it has affected their play. Despite of that Besiktas did show good game and would very likely still win against them.

Antalyaspor meanwhile has shown a great game today providing full focus and surely red card didnt affected them to negatively in game wise. In fact, their still shown positive football at 2nd half and has conceded 2 goals from tiredness by playing 10 men against very tough team. Antalyaspor could get good results once again with this performance at the league.

Trabzonspor has finally found motivation it was seeking for with win against Galatasaray.

Trabzonspor has surely won a very important game against Galatasaray in Istanbul during Super League 8th week game as it would certainly provide motivational boost for upcoming games at this season.

The following blog since last season has been stated that Trabzonspor needs a motivational boost which would come from the winning games back-to-back. However, it needs to to be stated that it has its first away game during this season against in-form Galatasaray by providing a great defence. In other words, Trabzonspor was very far from eye-catching performance today which was shown for example against Akhisar Belediyespor but their provided great response defensively showing how teams should defend against strong opponents when playing away. Trabzonspor player were very happy and satisfied with this win as their also aware that this is more than win and it can build on with more results in upcoming weeks and right now would aim for much better result. Surely this win will not bring league title but will allow team to finish in much better place compare to where their are now.

However, its important for them to carry on like that and build mentally and physically with this win or it would become meaningless at the end of the season.

Galatasaray was lacking creativity despite of dominating game.

Galatasaray would see them as being victim and being unlucky in yesterday's game as their had dominated whole game but couldnt convert those efforts into the goal with great Trabzonspor defence.

It needs to be stated that tactically and performance wise Galatasaray was playing its similar way as it did in previous games with creating chances during the game but in same time the attackers were not as effective as in previous games. It needs to be stated that among players the best performance was shown by Bruma at the Galatasaray who was creating chances for himself and others during the game. Most dangerous attacks at the game were mainly his assists including overhead shot by Eren Derdiyok which was hit into post. Galatasaray until that game has provided nice football and in fact this was their first loss in this season and therefore it should not be affected mentally too much with this scoreline, with reminding itself by statistics, and of course should identify mistakes of the game but again provide high level football in upcoming games. Top teams do lose in their duration for league title and its just important to provide great response from team in next games.

Trabzonspor has won against Galatasaray with a great defence play.

Trabzonspor has won their first away Super League game in this season while Galatasaray has lost their first game in this season during 8th week game at most awaited game of the week. In the game where Galatasaray was coming with high expectation and record number of supporters, it did failed to fulfill its aims.

Trabzonspor has played one of its most organised games of this season with giving full attention to the game and playing an agressive football and staying careful at defence. Surely it did number of mistakes at the back with Galatasaray finding high number of chances but Trabzonspor has been careful during the game. It is true that Galatasaray has started more active in the beginning of 1st half but the goal scored by Trabzonspor player N'Doye at the 17th minute goal which has been organised in great manner and mistakes of the defence during the game. Trabzonspor could be criticised for providing defensive football and not being active at the front, but it had provided strong defence in high-manner way. Therefore, this could be analysed as well-deserved win by Trabzonspor despite of some statistics data not agreeing with that.

Galatasaray meanwhile did provide similar attacking football which it had has shown in previous weeks but it was lacking the factor of scoring a goal with such defence which was provided by Trabzonspor defenders. It does need to state that one of the key moments of the game has been surely Eren Derdiyok chance at the 89th minute during his overhead shot which has hit to the post. It does need to state that Bruma did show a great performance with creating chances and being among most creative players at the field for both sides who had created good chances and having chances to a goal. It needs to be stated that Galatasaray wanted to score and created chances as game progressed but it could not pass defence and Trabzonspor goalkeeper Onur Kivrak.

In overall, this was an interesting game where Galatasaray was dominating game but with Trabzonspor finding one chance with converting it by Dame N'Doye and great defence it has shown classical performance of away team and has got deserved win.

Besiktas would aim to carry on its winning after motivational boost after Napoli.

With Galatasaray losing to the Trabzonspor today at the Super League and a great win against Napoli during Champions League 3rd week game in Italy, Besiktas surely would come against Antalyaspor in a great mood with only focussing at winning the game and get possibly leadership (depending with result of Basaksehirspor score earlier today).

Aziz Yildirim should sit down and do self criticism of poor performance of his club.

Fenerbahce CEO Aziz Yildirim during today's speech at the Council Board meeting today has stated once again that he would not resign until Supreme Court of Turkey would give decision for Fenerbahce for its complained regarding of matchfixing case and statement that this operation was done by the FETO.

As it is known there is strong campaign by the supporters, ex-Fenerbahce administrators and media against Aziz Yildirim stating that he should resign as with his latest decision he start only bringing harm especially following 4:1 loss to the Manchester United at the Europa League on the 20th October. Noone seems to be happy with a work of administrators and it needed to be stated that their quitly right with this criticism. Fenerbahce seriously needs to be done some serious revision at the administration including resignation of the CEO Aziz Yildirim but the fact that he would be leaving are incredible low and chances of that to happen doesnt seem to be case, even taking account that the Supreme Court might make decisions in favour of his.

Taking account that Aziz Yildirim would stay at his post, he should at least sit down and recognize what he does wrong with the team rather than blaming head coach and players for poor performance. It is important to do self-criticism right now.
