Turkish defence did show some good signs but it needs to be remembered that Italy didnt provide too much pressure.
Turkey and Italy has ended its international friendly game prior to Euro 2024 with drawless draw as its been uneventful game as both sides did play in the middle but it needs to be mentioned that quality of Italy has been more seen vaguely in some moments.
As been noted, it wasnt very eventful game but taking account that there is short time until start of the Euro 2024 this could be understandable and even through Italy didnt provide too much pressure to Turkey goal, it still could be mentioned that Turkey did provide some good defensive game and didnt allow much of its opponents to create chances and has shown strong organisational game. It needs to be mentioned that among making final decision into 25 player squad, Montella also had lots of tactical game which could be describing reason why Turkey hasnt been very eventful at attack. If aim has been to check condition of defenders than it could be said that task has been done well.
Final squad would be announced within 2 days and afterwards team would be playing its 2nd and last friendly game against Poland on 10th June likely with ideal starting 11 and hence that game likely would provide more idea into how much team is ready for Euro 2024.
Ozan Kabak has been taken away from Turkish National Team squad due of injury.
Turkish National Team player Ozan Kabak did become injured during friendly game against Italy with 9 days to go until start of Euro 2024 and 13 days until opening game for Turkey against Georgia and hence has been taken away from squad due of that.
It needs to be mentioned that both side did provide low tempo at the game which could be also connected for players and coaches aiming to avoid injuries prior to start of the tournament, but injury which did Ozan Kabak suffer has been totally playwise and has been unlucky one but it does look to be serious as among missing Euro 2024, it could be generally some for him to recover. Even through it is unclear if Vincenzo Montella did consider to include Kabak at final squad, he would need to look for some alternatives if he did right now.
Ozan Kabak in his side should be focussing into recovery process and be ready for upcoming season without doubt.
Besiktas signs Giovanni van Bronckhorst
Besiktas has announced its new head coach to be Giovanni van Bronckhorst as it did get experienced coach which could lead side for better performance in next season and possibly aim for title race.
With lots of names being coming out in the media in recent days, Besiktas did put final dot in this matter as it did announced Dutch coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst who does have some good experience at top league and some good sides and does have advantage for pushing this team ahead as he would be also having time to study Turkish Super League and see how he could get some good results.
It has been an important appointment for Besiktas and it is coach which could push this side into next level if he would go through adaptation to team and league at short notice.
