Turkey had issues at defence not so much at attack.
Turkish National Team has concluded pre-Euro2024 friendlies period with a loss from Poland with 2:1 at away game as it did concede at the end of the game as it did show some good performance at attack but not same at defence.
As been noted at our blog several times before, it is more important to lose games at friendlies than at actual games as it would be able to identify some important issues and one of those issues which has been learned from this game has been poor defence but it needs to be mentioned that it did have an injuries of key defenders who would be expected to be ready for game against Georgia so there is no need to be too panicking especially when in overall team did show some good organised game especially at attack and did show all signs that it was playing for win. Side did also look much more willing compare to game against Italy few days ago.
Despite of loss, Turkey did provide some optimism and hope for actual tournaments as long as Montella will work on issues which were present in upcoming 7 days.
Serdar Yardimci has joined Turkish National Team camp.
Serdar Yildirim has been added to national team squad to the camp in Germany but player would only be joining at training sessions and will not be playing at any games during whole competition.
With performance which Serdar Yildirim did show in training sessions and also previous season at Benfica, it needs to be mentioned that Vincenzo Montella has been satisfied and does see player quite understandably as among potential key players in national team squad possibly from World Cup 2026 qualifiers. Attending training sessions and being part of the national team squad at least at camp would provide him motivation and confidence for his future and also will not have issues to adaptation to national side in future.
Servet Yardimci joining national team side has been biggest gain for him as it would provide confidence and motivation for future.
Turkey has arrived to Germany
Turkey has arrived to Hamburg where it would be camping during whole tournament as it has been long anticipated tournament from the team.
Even through training camp did start as soon as league has been offer in Turkey, Italy and Poland, tournament to some extend has been started for players today as their would be now mentally focussed into tournament as Montella likely to focus into more intense training sessions and focus into tactical game and also focussing into solving issues which been present at Italy and Poland game so team would be 100% ready for Georgia game on 18th June.
Turkish National Team players which been highly concentrated so far, would now need to give 100% focus to Euro 2024 as one week left for they opener against Georgia
