Fenerbahce gets pretty confident win against Gaziantep thanks to goals from Batshuayi
Fenerbahce has reached to quarter-final of Turkish Cup after getting pretty confident win against Gaziantep with 2:0 scoreline as both goals did come from Michy Batshuayi during 1st half with 1 of them being from penalty.
Following pretty difficult game at the Super League between both sides in January, it was expected for Fenerbahce to have pretty difficult game even through it did come out as favourite and was expected from Gaziantep to provide some pressure to opponent. It needs to be stated that Gaziantep some moments where it did show good performance with some good chances, in overall this game ended up being a bit more simpler in sense of storyline and pressure it has recieved. It needs to be stated that factor of Fenerbahce finding two early goals did make task much easier. It did continue with creating some chances during game and could easily found at least 2 more goals but in overall it could be noted that due of advantage of scoreline it did provide lower tempo of the game especially during 2nd half, and it did get pretty good win with getting to quarter-final.
Gaziantep meanwhile as been noted actually did show some good reaction after conceding 1st and 2nd goal as it did get penalty moment which it didnt convert and did hit into post. And also in start of 2nd half it did have some good tempo and pressure with finding some chances but as game continued it did lose tempo and belief but still did have some good moments when looking as whole.
Fenerbahce hence gets to the quarter-final as it aims to defend its title and in general does have aims for 3 tournaments it is at where in all it is showing good performance in all of them.
Galatasaray did go through despite of creating an issue for themselves.
Galatasaray has managed to get to the Turkish Cup quarter-final after beating 1st league side Bandirmaspor with 4:2 scoreline as it did make its tasks more difficult than needed as it got behind from 3:0 to 3:2.
Despite of getting win, there are some questions regarding performance of alternative side as it did go through some rotations especially during 2nd half as it fail to get full control of the game and did concede its 2nd goal on 77th minute, providing hope to opponent. It also needs to be mentioned that 2 goals did come from penalty kicks, and even through such shots should not be reduced as penalty goals are not being an easy, it is still not goals which came from open game and does generally provide some questions into how team performed in overall. Positive not meanwhile from game without doubt is being goal from Carlos Vinicios who did score on 1st game even through its been on empty goal and hence showed fast adaptation to team.
Galatasaray hence did get its ticket to quarter-final but it does raise some serious questions regarding 2nd squad of this team without doubt.
Besiktas will meet against Antalyaspor at tough game.
Besiktas are going to resume its Turkish Cup campaign which as it is known is taking very seriously due of getting far from title chances against Antalyaspor as it would be tough game for them without doubt.
This game would also mean that Antalyaspor head coach Sergen Yalcin who is being Besiktas legend both as player and coach would be meeting with his old team for first time in this role and hence it would be having some emotional connections during game. Besiktas it needs to be mentioned that regain some important confidence and motivation after beating Trabzonspor with 2:0 scoreline and due of importance it gives to Turkish Cup might be mainly giving time to almost ideal starting 11. Antalyaspor on their part would be also motivated as it tends to be at Turkish Cup and also aim to carry on its pretty good record it showed in this calendar year.
Besiktas could be seen as favourite but it would not be an easy game for them at all as both sides like to get through.
