What happened in Turkish football today? 10/02/2024

Galatasaray continues its winning run this time beating Basaksehirspor

Galatasaray continues its winning run at the Super League after beating Basaksehirspor with 2:0 scoreline thanks to the goal from 1st half as it continues its run in confident run at title race with Fenerbahce.

Even through this game has been seen to be tough one when looking into impressive run of Basaksehirspor in recent week, it needs t be mentioned that Galatasaray did get control of the game straight away as it has took control of the attacking game and has shown strong organising defensive game mainly keeping Basaksehirspor close to mid-line and applying fake offside tactic. After finding goals in middle of 2nd half in duration of 6 minutes it has got all scoreline which it wanted which allowed them also to control ball and even through opponent did show some good performance, it still prevented them to get any chance for opponent to create some chances. Galatasaray with such win without doubt did get an important confidence prior to Sparta Prague game and also Super League.

Basaksehirspor in all fairness it could be stated didnt provide very poor performance and did look like it had some playing plan but quality factor and possibly motivation given from title race has prevented them to show much issues towards Galatasaray.

Therefore, Galatasaray did get an important win and does continues its fight for title with Fenerbahce which seems like it would continue until end of the season.

Fenerbahce would be aiming to get confident win against Alanyaspor.

As we are continuing to have league, where both Fenerbahce and Galatasaray cant afford only to lose games but also end in draw, Fenerbahce would be playing crucial game against Alanyaspor.

Fenerbahce with playing at home it would be seeing as strong favourites at the game and would be expect to be having fast tempo of the game with providing game at finding an early goal which would lead them to get control of the game which as been seen in this season key for title contenders is to get an early goal. Fenerbahce it needs to be mentioned is being in good mood with both how it performs at the field and also being aware that title is being close so it would be expected to show strong confident performance. Alanyaspor meanwhile who is being close to relegation zone would be aiming mainly at defensive game as draw would be good result and therefore Fenerbahce would need to look for creative game at attack which it does great.

Fenerbahce hence would be coming out as favourite as they would be aiming to get an early goal during game.

Besiktas signs Al Musrati and Muci at deadline of transfer window

Besiktas which has been surprisingly very quest during mid-season transfer window, has ended this transfer period with two important transfers signing Legia Warsaw player Ernest Muci and also loaning Al Musrati.

Besiktas which was expected to be one of the active sides at the transfer front during this window has only got 4 transfers and has been heavily criticised from supporters and media but it needs to be mentioned that on last days it has got 2 important players who could potentially have positive impact to players as long their have good adaptation. It needs to be mentioned that our blog, especially taking account into past experience, prefer to state if its been good or bad transfer after some performance of players but Al Musrati and Muci does have an opportunity to become important additions to team as team aims to end 3rd spot and win Turkish Cup and hence become leading players in near future.

Besiktas therefore did get crucial transfers in the end of transfer window and now its time for both Al Musrati and Muci to reply for this high expectations.
