Adana Demirspor gets to next stage with historical win against CFR Cluj.
Adana Demirspor has marked a history by getting its 1st win at the European competitions in its history and it has achieved that with playing 2nd game as it has met Romanian side CFR Cluj and would now continue its road to group stage against Osijek.
Adana Demirspor has been seen as underdogds during this tie as it didnt have number of important experience at the European competitions compare to Romanian side but quality of players did play an important role. It needs to be mentioned that 2nd leg which did end with 2:1 win for Adana Demirspor has been tough one as the after getting ahead on the game, CFR Cluj did provide good attacking game which led them to get an equaliser and later there was red card which did make stuff difficult but fighting spirit of Adana Demirspor did lead for side to get an important win as Cherif Ndiaye has been a historical win for side.
CFR Cluj does have some good European experience including at Champions League but team is being in decline at recent years and this has been visible even more visible in this game and lots of weaknesses became present in this game.

Besiktas showed strong willingness against KF Tirana

Galatasaray got through Zalgiris thanks to Mertens outstanding goal
Galatasaray has passed Lithuanian champions Zalgiris thanks to the outstanding goal from Dries Mertens which did come close in the end of the 1st half as such goal could have overpassed stubborn and organised Zalgiris defence.
Focus on defence from Zalgiris could be highly understandable as there is big differences into level of performances between both sides and Zalgiris did aim to get goals from counter-attacks as it did have some hope from an away game. Zalgiris playing game in Istanbul has also affected team to focus into more towards defence and an issue from Galatasaray perspective has been not to found solution to this and despite getting high number of chances, it didnt convert them as some attackers didnt play during this game.
Stil, in overall Galatasaray did get outcome which it seeked and would meet now Olimpija Ljubjana as it would need to show strong organised performance especially in attack.
