What happened in Turkish football today? 29/08/2023

Galatasaray has went through group stage despite struggling against Molde

Galatasaray has qualified to Champions League group stage after beating Molde with 2:1 scoreline at home ground with an average scoreline of 5:3 but it needs to be mentioned that in duration of two legs, it wasnt an easy game at all for Galatasaray.

Galatasaray it needs to be mentioned did once again struggle against Molde despite of strong belief in the Turkish football community and feeling at club itself that this game would been pretty easy. Galatasaray in fact didnt have a good start of the game with Molde did show from that moment that it has all seriousness to provide some problems to Galatasaray but a penalty position at 7th minute did come into saviour for side as Icardi did convert goal and has in fact did control of the game as it started providing some attacking game even through unwanted injury to head of two Malmo players has affected to how 1st half has been developed. It needs to be mentioned that Galatasaray had a problem which tends to be case with Turkish sides is to provide too much relaxation too early as Molde started providing high amount of pressure in 2nd half and with such pressure did find goal with Helstad and almost got an equaliser drawat game. With Angelino goal in the end of the game, it could be stated that Galatasaray has been lucky to get through.

Molde it needs to be mentioned did provide very good performance and in some moments has been better side in 2 legs and it did look case its not situation of artificial field which been mentioned at 1st leg. It could be mentioned that Molde would provide very good performance at Europa League.

Galatasaray has went through to group stage but it could be stated that it has been through thanks to quality factory as it wasnt much better with performance wise as Molde provided many issues.

Ahmet Nur Cebi is doing opposite what Seba achieved.

Besiktas CEO Ahmet Nur Cebi has stated that he would for himself to be remembered as club's legendary CEO Suleyman Seba but his statements and attitude is only doing harm of the club and himself.

We are seeing Besiktas CEO Ahmet Nur Cebi to be rising tensions during recent period and making populist statements without much achieving and rather than admitting that summer transfer window didnt go as well as planned he started to find excuses why some players were not signed and provided populist statements that team would become champions in early as 3rd week of the season. This taking account that club is providing most strongest performance on the field among top 3 clubs and at the games which it wins it did so in nervous manner and without showing top level game for 90 minutes. Seba has managed to make team which was having symphatizers even more different clubs supporters but now it is being turning of with remarks towards TFF and statements during devastating earthquake regarding of points.

Ahmet Nur Cebi might see himself to be doing some good job but this could be very arguable when looking how is club percieved by people.

Basaksehirspor loans Ousseynou Ba

Basaksehirspor has loaned Olympiakos player Ousseynou Ba a player which would be expected to strengthen side significantly for upcoming season as Basaksehirspor does need to strength its squad due of not very effective start of the season.

One if the most dissapointing starts of this new season has been Basaksehirspor and team is currently looking for solutions with making some transfers and one of them is being Ba which is being potential player and does provide strong fast-tempo game which could be very important for team in attacking sense as he could be taking pretty important role in the field as he is being player into level of whole team and could lead even ahead with creating some important chances starting from midfielder. Hence, Ba could be taking very important role in the team and this would also be an important part of new career.

Hence, club did sign an important player for upcoming season as club could show strong offensive game in upcoming season.
