What happened in Turkish football today? 10/11/2022

Besiktas got win thanks to the goals from first half at Turkish Cup.

Besiktas has got a win against Serik Belediyespor during Turkish Cup 4th round and hence got into next stage of the tournament thanks to the 3 goals which did come during 1st half.

In fact, once again Besiktas did show two different halves even as it played against relatively weaker side as Serik Belediyespor is competing at 2nd league, but it needs to be mentioned that Besiktas did show strong and right attitude to the game with finding 2 goals within 10 minutes thanks to the goals from Redmond and Muleka, and later in half Dele Alli scoring more or less to empty goal.  This game as been noted before-hand did come in right time as it did regain confidence and motivation for next game after losing to Galatasaray at derby game. Meanwhile, with World Cup break coming up from next week, Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes would need to focus into how making sure side is playing top game for 90 minutes.

Besiktas did get good win and regained confidence but now it needs to work on showing strong game for 90 minutes.

Trabzonspor will aim to enter to break with high motivation.

Trabzonspor would be openning last week in the Super League prior to World Cup 2022 break with game against Ankaragucu as would be favourite but it needs to be mentioned that opponent are showing some improvements in recent weeks.

Trabzonspor is being side with some decline in recent weeks with performance and also generally compare to previous week, and without doubt it would have lots of work to do with improving its performance during World Cup break, but it would be focussed to get a win against Ankaragucu without doubt to both enter to break at high note and also keep its title aims arrive as it getting further from league leaders Fenerbahce. Ankaragucu is being side at some confidence and an aim to provide some attacking game and taking account that Trabzonspor is not at great form, it would be seeking to provide some pressure to opponent especially when it would have control of the ball.

Trabzonspor hence would be coming to game as favourites but always it would need to give some effort to get win before break.

Future stars of Turkish football been called to national team

Turkish National Team has announced its squad for upcoming international friendlies against Scotland and Czech Republic as it extremely pleasant to see some young and new names.

With Turkey not being able to get World Cup ticket, it has used this break to play against other sides which didnt get into next round through play-offs and without doubt both Scotland and Czech Republic are good teams and would been good reference point and ability to check its condition as team. Most pleasant thing with using this as friendly games period, Stefan Kuntz has called Fenerbahce Arda Guler, Besiktas players Tayyip Talha Sanuc and Emirhan Ilkhan into the team as players would be able to get used at competing in such top level in national team level and Kuntz to check readiness for players in Euro 2024 qualifiers.

This squad and friendlies hence would been an opportunity for future stars of Turkish football to prove themselves to Kuntz.
