Besiktas has got confident win against Serik Belediyespor.
Besiktas has reached to Turkish Cup 5th round after beating Serik Belediyespor with 3:1 scoreline as it has strong and dominant game during 1st half and ended that period with 3:0 leadership.
Following loss to Galatasaray at the league in the weekend which had decline of confidence especially to Senol Gunes who only came out to his 2nd game, side needed to get following result in confident manner both with result and performance. With all respect to 2nd league opponent Serik Belediyespor, it has been side which could provide such reaction to the team. Besiktas as has been expected did come out with 2nd squad and also academy players which did show some good performance as Redmond did find his 1st goal in 5th minute at this new club and Muleka has reminded that he is being one of the key forward players in the team despite of decline of performance in recent weeks. As been noted, with getting wanted result during 1st half as it got 2 goals on 10th minute and on 34th minute came goal from Delle Alli, Besiktas did reduce tempo which led for 2nd half for mediocre tempo and also concede a goal.
With Serik Belediyespor coming to game as underdogs, its been to some extend that it got opponent which was seeking to get some strong reaction since start of the season and hence did start game with being behind for 2-goals. Serik Belediyespor tried to show some reaction during 2nd half but its been too late.
Besiktas as been noted did get good result and performance after losing to tempo and could look in better confidence and motivation for league game against Antalyaspor before World Cup break.
Galatasaray got tough win against Ofspor at Turkish Cup
Galatasaray has managed to get to the 5th round of the Turkish Cup after beating Ofspor with 2:1 scoreline as scoreline suggests it ended up being pretty difficult game for side despite of providing strong attacking game.
Galatasaray did come out for win and hence provided strong attacking but Bafetembi Gomis being on unlucky day as he couldnt score high number of opportunities and also coming out with academy players who have lots of promise but an inexperience did affect such performance. Stating that it should not be degrated impressive performance of Ofspor as it provided very strong and defensive game with doing everything to bring back at least to the knockout stages but couldnt stop Berkay Kutlu winning goal. Willingness from Galatasaray has been present but such performance of Gomis has been main downside. In positive side, it has been present to see Haris Seferovic to be scoring as he more or less became scorer at Turkish Cup where he is being selected for longer time and finds goals.
Galatasaray did show good game but it would need to take some lessons with not converting such high number of chances even if it did play with 2nd squad.
Mathias Ross becomes injured against Ofspor
Galatasaray player Matias Ross meanwhile has become injured during Turkish Cup 4th round game against Ofspor as club medical team would focus to bring full recovery during World Cup 2022.
Even through injuries are not welcomed anytime, with injury coming just before World Cup 2022 as there is only game left in the league means that player would have an opportunity to recover until season resumes in good condition and without any pressure. Negative part is that it does look to be pretty serious injury and might take some time for full recovery. In here as always its important for Ross to look after himself and make sure that recovery process would take place at shortest time as possible.
This has been without doubt only negative aspect from Ofspor game and player now needs to focus to make sure he is recovered when league resumes.
