What happened in Turkish football today? 08/09/2022

Michy Batshuayi has brought win against Fenerbahce with last minute goal.

Fenerbahce player Michy Batshuayi has got a winning goal in his debut with his new club as Turkish side has won its first game against Dynamo Kyiv in its history and hence starts Europa League group campaign with an important win.

It needs to be stated that game has been started with high number of fouls between both sides, even through it needs to be mentioned that Dynamo Kyiv has provided much more aggressive game but when game has been neutralised and more focussed into the field, it needs to be stated that Fenerbahce has got an upper hand of the game. It started creating with some controllable and provided an attacking game which did lead eventually to goal which been scored by Gustavo Henrique. It needs to be mentioned that Dynamo Kyiv did improve at some moments during 2nd half of the game and did find an equaliser but after conceding Fenerbahce has got once again control of the game and with Michy Batshuayi coming on the field and has scored an oppening goal. With game being developed in similar manner as previous tie between sides, Fenerbahce has provided stronger game.

Dynamo Kyiv has provided pretty similar game as it did during Champions League campaign as it aimed much to prevent Fenerbahce during 1st half and showed slightly an attacking game as side continues to be losing games back-to-back and being team with big struggle which would affect rest of the campaign.

Fenerbahce hence did start game in good manner and has got important win with Batshuayi last minute goal which would provide both confidence and motivation to team and player.

Trabzonspor had dissapointed start of the Europa League.

Trabzonspor is starting Europa League campaign at low point with losing to Ferencvaros with 3:2 scoreline which makes it even more worrying when taking account that opponent did play for most amount of the game with 10 men.

Trabzonspor start of the game has been in unsuccessful manner with providing low tempo of the game and has allowed Ferencvaros to create chances as side has conceded an early goal at 4th minute. There was some hope that game could be turning into hand of Trabzonspor as Ferencvaros has got  red card, but Trabzonspor has continued showing ineffective manner and opponent realising that has continued with providing strong attacking game which led them to get 2:0 scoreline. Trabzonspor did show some reaction after that with making scoreline 2:1 and later to 3:2 but still it couldnt provide that level apart of last minutes of the game when team was fighting to get draw . In fact, there was debatable Yusuf Yazici goal disallowed in 87th minute and possibly side did deserve a draw when looking to that position but in overall its been far to get win with such performance.

It was expected that Ferencvaros would provide some pressure to Trabzonspor goal when looking into form of the side in recent weeks but it has much more opportunities which would been expected in 1st half. Apart of end of the game, Ferencvaros did fight for win which they got in the end.

Trabzonspor hence continues its ineffective performance in the league and now at Europa League and even through Ferencvaros is great side it did lose 3 points to its weakest opponent which it could pay price at the end.

Basaksehirspor had incredible start of the Conference League campaign

Basaksehirspor had a great start of Conference League group stage campaign as it got 4:0 win against Scottish side Hearts at the game where it has dominated from start to an end as Emre Belozoglu came out to first game as Pro Licence coach.

It needs to be mentioned that Basaksehirspor has been providing highly attacking game both in Europe and Super League and with taking account that Hearts to all respects to them is being beatable side for Basaksehirspor it has been expected for it to be doing same, and it just did that. With Hasan Ali Kaldirim finding an openning goal on 26th minute has without doubt even more confidence to the Basaksehirspor and has prevented Hearts to get any possession of the game. Therefore, Basaksehirspor has got whole control of the side with providing pressure game towards Hearts even if its played an away game. With such performance without doubt it didnt send strong message to Scottish side but also Fiorentina and RFS, making it clear it would not be side which would lose easily during whole campaign.

It was known that Hearts does have some issues at Scottish Premier League and hence it did come out without form but it needs to be mentioned that it didnt even manage to provide a bit of pressure to Basaksehirspor and it does look like it would be outsider of this group.

Basaksehirspor has got an important win against Hearts as it got 3 points after its opening game and also done that in such agressive and confident manner would provide lots of confidence for upcoming games for sure.
