What happened in Turkish football today? 11/01/2022

Fenerbahce continues showing poor game in league

Fenerbahce continues showing ineffective performance in the league as it did lose this time to Adana Demirspor at home with 2:1 scoreline, with supporters continuing showing actively protest to administration.

With coming into first game of 2022, there was expectation that Fenerbahce would see this game as new beginning for them but their did provide pretty ineffective game and even through were side to keep possession of the ball, didnt provide much effectiveness game with lacking some creativity game at the front as it did look more and more that issue in the side in this season were not connected to Vitor Pereira. Without doubt Fenerbahce CEO Ali Koc continues to be highly getting pressure and he needs to go through his connection with club in the future.

Things are getting worser for Fenerbahce and sadly it doesnt look like it would be solved soon for them.

Ahmet Calik passed away during car crash in Ankara

Turkish football community did wake up without doubt with very saddened news, as Konyaspor player Ahmet Calik has passed away during car trip to Ankara.

According to his old friend, Onder Eryildirim, Calik was travelling to Ankara to sort out some of the issues regarding his wedding which would be taking place in February and did lost control of the car which been rolled down on hill due of slippery road. Being only 27 years old, he has been known to be gentlemen personality and having good relationships with his teammates in team and national side and would be deeply missed for sure.

Turkish Football News Update sends our condolences to Konyaspor and Ahmet Calik. Rest in Peace.

Konyaspor sends request to TFF to postpone Basaksehirspor game

Konyaspor has send request to TFF to postpone this weekend game against Basaksehirspor for Super League 21st week, due of passing away of Ahmet Calik.

With whole side being morally affected from passing away of Calik, it would be understandable for side not being fully concentrated to the game during training sessions and matchdays with going through deep trauma. In here, TFF would need to go through some empathy with club and postpone game without doubt.

It would be accepted for Basaksehirspor also show some understanding and not provide any issue for such request
