What happened in Turkish football today? 23/10/2019

Galatasaray did show some good fighting spirit but it lacks quality.

Galatasaray did provide good performance especially during 1st half of the Champions League game against Real Madrid but still has some issues with converting chances as it is being for now only side not to score in this season at competition.

Looking at the overall performance of Galatasaray during game, it could be stated that team did play for win or at least draw as it has provided fastest game so far during this season with especially Florin Andone being hungry to find goal during game. But with quality factory and also Courtois possibly providing his best performance since this season did provide great performances making great saves especially in 1st half. It was also focussed that Galatasaray does have some issues and couldnt prevent Real to create many chances with being thankful to Fernando Muslera to provide some memorable saves. Without doubt one of the main discussed issues of this game has been reaction between Younes Belhanda and supporters who has shown dislikeness towards each other in pretty clear manner and it would be interesting to see that despite of defending player after game, in what way would react for this actions.

Galatasaaray did provide some good performance during game and did show some confident performance but it still needs to raise its level for upcoming games in tournament.

Besiktas needs to show much more effective game against Braga

Without doubt, Besiktas would be coming to the most important game of the season as it would be playing against one of the most experienced Europa League sides in group and whole tournament against Braga as it would be looking for its 1st points in competition.

So far, Besiktas did provide very dissapointing performance in tournament but with Ahmet Nur Cebi being elected as club's new CEO and also for him providing support to head coach Abdullah Avci but with expected condition that this support would be given as long as results would be coming, could provide extra motivation to Avci and whole side. Even through Besiktas would be needing win for sure, it needs to be remembered that apart of losing points both domestically and in Europe it is providing poor performance so at least side would be looking to show good performance which could provide some optimism for Galatasaray game coming up. This is also could opportunity for Avci to look for ways to improve team performance and change of tactics, an issue which has been discussed a lot in this recent period.

Besiktas needs to improve at least improve its level of performance to get motivation for upcoming weeks.

Both Trabzonspor and Krasnodar will need to win to keep their chances for knockout stages alive.

Even through Trabzonspor has been among most praised during this season by our blog, it needs to be admitted that it doesnt provide great performance in sense of results at Europa League Group stage only drawing against Basel and now would have crucial with last place Krasnodar.

It needs to be noted that Krasnodar didnt provide good start of its Europa League campaign being below their expectations which would mean that Russian side could be seeing this game as turning point for them, a note which Trabzonspor needs to get into account. Still, Trabzonspor did provide some good performance during recent weeks both against Basel and also Super League scoring 10 goals in last 3 weeks which would lead team to come to game with strong confidence. It would as been mentioned be crucial game for both sides and this game result would provide view how many both sides would be having to get to knockout stage. Hence, game would be played with both sides not only aiming to lose but also to win so it could be intense game with some good chances for both sides. Once again Sorloth and Daniel Sturridge will be expected to be key players on day.

Trabzonspor does need to win and their do have capacity to do so but it wont be easy one for sure.
