What happened in Turkish football today? 01/04/2019

Galatasaray would play against Yeni Malatyaspor as it aims for double this season.

Turkish football season would be resumed after long break with Turkish Cup semi-final 1st leg games, with starting Galatasaray which has high aims for rest of the season and would be meeting with Yeni Malatyaspor which in return has set high aims for Turkish Cup.

Galatasaray would be entering to last section of the league with an aim to end season with double as it aims to get Super League title despite of being 6 points behind league leaders and also being at semi-final of Turkish Cup with being only team from top 4 clubs at tournament. Stating that, it needs to be stated that Galatasaray will not have an easy game against Yeni Malatyaspor which has set an eye for Turkish Cup as their chances for top 4 position at the league seems to be getting further from target. Galatasaray due of game being semi-final and also having high aims would likely to come out with its strong squad and would be aiming to show its top football to keep its motivation and focus towards Super League game also as it would be meeting with Yeni Malatyaspor as this game also provides an opportunity for teams to get to know each other and check current conditions. It does look like if Diagne would be playing, it would be an important game for him to find goals and make his self-focus even stronger.

Galatasaray would come out as favourite for game but Yeni Malatyaspor would be coming out to game with higher concentration and focus for the game and it would be expected to be close game.

Yeni Malatyaspor on other hand does take Turkish Cup as priority.

In other hand, Yeni Malatyaspor would be providing different focus and concentration for Turkish Cup as it would see route for Europa League to be much more easier and also less risky as compare to league situation is on their own hand.

With having different focus and also being aware that Galatasaray is more likely to provide higher focus towards league title, Yeni Malatyaspor would be aiming to provide strong and brave football. As it would be remembered, Yeni Malatyaspor did manage to win earlier this season against Galatasaray at league, and certainly this factor would also provide extra focus and motivation towards team. Yeni Malatyaspor head coach Ersan Bulut did state several times that for him Turkish Cup is main priority and it would be aiming to play, regardless if it would focus to defence or attacking game against strong side, to achieve its tasks and aim to provide difficult time to opponents.

It is important for Yeni Malatyaspor to stay focus to get upper hand during 1st leg game and also whole tie if it wants to get to the final of competition.

Borussia Dortmund has set transfer fee of Shinji Kagawa as 12.5 million euro.

It became clear that Borussia Dortmund has set transfer fee of its player Shinji Kagawa, which is currently loaned to Besiktas, as 12.5 million euro as German club has recieved offers from Bayern Leverkusen and Schalke 04.

This news also opens questions if Besiktas would be able to afford this amount of money to purchase player, as Besiktas CEO Fikret Orman did state that if club and player wants to stay at club it would be aiming to get his transfer fee. Even through Kagawa doesnt state it himself directly their are hints that he is feeling comfortably at club and would consider to stay at the team for next season. With Kagawa also showing good performance at Besiktas still joining team during mid-season transfer window has led for Borussia Dortmund to provide such impressive transfer fee in natural way. With getting good connections with Besiktas due of this loan and Kagawa feeling comfortable in Istanbul would provide some hope for Istanbul giant that Borussia Dortmund would reduce this fee for them, but it would be unlikely as good connections doesnt always lead to approach when it comes at business as been seen with many cases at this league.

It is certain that Fikret Orman would aim to keep Kagawa during summer but its question if he could afford to do so with economical condition at the club.
