What happened in Turkish football today? 04/01/2019
Besiktas has signed Burak Yilmaz for 1.5+1 years.
Besiktas and Trabzonspor has announced that transfer of Burak Yilmaz to Besiktas has been completed and player has attended to club's 1st training session, doing this for 1st time after 12 years as he has also spend his career at the side beforehand.
With all sides making transfer deal in previous dates and finalising it after New Year Eve, it should not be seen as big surprise that among announced transfers this has been 1st transfer of mid-season window. Trabzonspor in its statement has announced that player has been sold to Besiktas for 8,429,708 TL and his request of payments from previous club has been reduced as this transfer has been made. Their were many complaints from Besiktas supporters when transfer has been announced and it needs to be admitted that Burak Yilmaz has been among criticised players at the Turkey in recent years, but it also needs to be remembered that player had best years in his career with Senol Gunes so their is chance and hope for him to show once again a good performance. Only downside which could be seen from this 1.5 + 1year deal made between sides could be that Burak Yilmaz is among players which could be seen as old and with frequent injuries it would be seen how much help he would give.
Besiktas has managed to get a very important transfer and if Burak Yilmaz manages to show high level performance at Besiktas, he would be able to move team forward.
Kasimpasa signs Tobias Heintz and Azad Toptik.
Among teams which has also been active since start of mid-season transfer window has been Kasimpasa, as it has managed to transfer Sarbsporg 08 player Tobias Heintz for 1.5 years and Stuttgart player Azad Toptik for 2.5 years.
Kasimpasa would be start 2nd half of the season with high aims for fighting for European spots as it currently finds itself 6 points against leaders, so it was important for them to make their side stronger in all capacities. With Sarbsporg player Tobias Heintz being at same group with Besiktas at Europa League it did get lost of coverage in Turkey and it needs to be noted that player has shown good performance. With Azad Toptik transfer also being made, this transfers would be able to improve performance of Kasimpasa and carry on showing great performance as pretty young players would be able to solve some of the issues at the team as long as their became adapted to team and understand aims of the team and head coach Mustafa Denizli during this mid-season training camp but their would have enough time to do so.
Kasimpasa would certainly carry on looking for players to make their side even stronger during this mid-season transfer window without doubt.
Galatasaray signs professional contract with two youth players.
Galatasaray has signed professional contract with its academy player Ogun Caliskan and Cekdar Orhan for 3 years, hence team is carry on showing strong investment into younger players at the side.
It is known that Galatasaray head coach Fatih Terim is giving strong investment towards younger players and hence this announcement is not seen as big surprise and their is expectation that more academy players could be signed for team during this mid-season transfer window. Of course, this signing doesnt mean that their would recieve playing time during this season but their would from now on would have opportunity to train with main squad and hence get more experienced during upcoming days and hence even develop even better. Both players has also shown great performance during academy and does provide high future for both club and national team.
It would be expected that more signing of academy players to professional contract will come, as it is known that Fatih Terim is giving big focus to younger players at the squad.
