What happened in Turkish football today? 29/01/2019

Galatasaray has managed to pass Boluspor at Turkish Cup without much problems.

Galatasaray has got into quarter-final stage of the Turkish Cup with beating comfortably Boluspor with 4:1 scoreline at home ground with hat-trick scored by Yunus Akgun at the game which has been mainly played by youth and reserved players.

It needs to be noted that with this scoreline Galatasaray has shown how much it wanted to win game and have strong aim at winning Turkish Cup at this season as it has started game in pretty dominating manner and had an upper hand of whole game. Without doubt Yunus Akgun would be seen as one of the most potential youth players at the current squad as Ozan Kabak has left to Stuttgart during this mid-season transfer window. In fact, this development would provide an additional motivation and confidence for Yunus Akgun which didnt show itself during today's game but also in upcoming games as he might recieve some playing time at league if Galatasaray doesnt manage to get transfers in last 2 days of transfer window. In fact, Galatasaray did show good performance  taking account that Boluspor which change of head coach and also with seeing other clubs from their divison getting to next stage, but Galatasaray has stayed focussed and showed that currently it is among best teams in Turkey right now.

Boluspor meanwhile did come out to the game at the difficult condition as it did have some poor results in recent weeks and with change of head coach. It still needs to be stated that it has managed to provide some resistance but quality differences has affected to scoreline.

Galatasaray with this performance did show that it does take Turkish Cup serious and more importantly has kept its winning spirit arrive even through it doesnt have forward and kept confidence at high prior to Alanyaspor game.

Fenerbahce has got incridibly important win against Yeni Malatyaspor.

Fenerbahce has managed to win its 1st game for 2019 and also after very long time as it has provided fighting spirit against Yeni Malatyaspor during Super League 19th week game as it has won with 3:2 scoreline.

As was stated at our blog several times, it is crucial for Fenerbahce to win game back to back as soon as possible as scare of being relegated from Super League is getting closer and closer. Even through it is still uncertain that Fenerbahce would be able to carry on winning game, it is good start for them especially taking account that their have won which at table at least would be considered at title race. Willingness showed by its player Mehmet Ekici during whole game and also with his 2 goals has provided an important role and would likely push whole team into providing much more fighting spirit game with only issue being for him is not being able to convert goal from penalty kick. However, it is still cant be said for sure that Fenerbahce has provided great performance as it has almost conceded goal at last minute and Sadik Ciftpinar certainly has saved team to end this game with high pressure once again, It needs to be also noted that Yeni Malatyaspor had trouble at providing right attitute to such as high pressurised game which affected their performance.

It needs to be stated that for now Goztepe game for Fenerbahce has become even more crucial for them as their would be aiming to get back-to-back wins and raise at standings with an advantage at playing at home.

Transfer ban has been lifted for Ankaragucu and straight away it got 2 players.

Ankaragucu has announced that its transfer ban has been lifted as it has paid all of the debts towards players and has announced straight away transfers of Leeds United player Hadi Sacko and Legia Warsaw player Michal Pazdan.

Without doubt, one of the most problematic clubs currently at Super League, even more than Fenerbahce, is being Ankaragucu as their didnt win since November and also had high amount of troubles both with stadium and financially. However, it has solved those two issues with openning new stadium and playing its 1st game against Alanyaspor even through it did lose that game, and has lifted transfer ban. This would allow team to make some last minute transfers including ones their did today. With taking account its financial conditions it needs to be noted that those two transfers would be able to move team forward as even through those players are into level to compete at the Super League, especially Michal Pazdan. With administration solving those issues it would now expect to get some good results from technical staff and players in return without doubt.

Ankaragucu did get relief on those days in sense of finance and adminsitration and now time would show if that would be able to convert to positive result for team.
