Besiktas CEO Fikret Orman would be running as sole candidate for CEO election on 16th September.
With deadline of CEO candidacy application for Besiktas CEO election which would be taking place on 16th September, it became clear that current CEO Fikret Orman would be running as sole candidate on the day.
With Fikret Orman being able to stay as club CEO after election, it is more crucial right now to see how strong support he would be getting from members which could be seen from turnaround of the election. Primal reason for this election has been to see how much support Fikret Orman and also to provide some changes at the club with his new administration team. Otherwise, it was also expected that he would be going to election as sole candidate and hence this wasnt see as big surprise at all. In fact, if someone did provide his/her candidacy it would be very risky choice even through it could been a better reference to see how much Orman has support at the club as it would been curious how much his opposition would be getting. But with Fikret Orman running as sole candidate, only focus would be given into amount of voters who would turn around.
As been stated, there are two reasons for this election which to see how strong Fikret Orman has for him and also an attempt to change administrative team.
Galatasaray player Garry Rodrigues has recieved 450,000 euro salary raise.
It was announced that Galatasaray player Garry Rodrigues yearly salary of 1,350,000 euro has been raised to 1,900,000 euro as team has shown some goodwill sign to player but does raise question about economical aspects due of FFP regulations.
In fact, with Galatasaray having lots of high salaries which it plays towards players, this decision to raise salary towards Garry Rodrigues could be seen as bit surprising and unexpected. Not that Garry Rodrigues didnt deserve this raise as he has played an important role for league title during last season and also continues to show good performance during this season. Interestingly, Rodrigues has stated that he didnt even ask for raise of salary and if that is case and not marketing tool of player, then Galatasaray has decided to provide extra motivation for a player. This could also be seen of lack defenders at the side right now and with having an important season and more crucial Champions League aims it was aiming to get high level performance from player.
So as been stated, Rodrigues did deserve this raise but with FFP conditions it was pretty unexpected move from Galatasaray administration.
Roberto Soldado wasnt selected to Europa League 23-player team squad.
With Fenerbahce releasing its Europa League squad for group stage games, it was seen surprising decision for the team not to include Roberto Soldado who could play a crucial role at the team when it matters.
Roberto Soldado effectiveness at Fenerbahce could be argued not to be raised at the level of Villarreal and also general expectations but he does give big effort and does look for goals when on field and does raise tempo of the game when he starts or comes as substitute. With this aspects and not great performance of Fenerbahce in recent periods this factors could become crucial. Stating that Fenerbahce head coach Phillip Cocu is currently still experimenting with finding perfect squad and likely slowly starting including and eliminating some players, and this could be seen that he doesnt find Roberto Soldado as good enough for future games as it could explain why he wasnt selected to squad as there are no other factors which would that decision. Soldado arleady showed his unhappiness but rather than being dissapointed he could use a best option which is to raise his performance level and prove Cocu that this decision was wrong.
Roberto Soldado future at team has been raised without this election but with Phillip Cocu still doesnt seem to be 100% sure of his best team, Soldado has prove his value and at least fight to become regular at Super League games.

- Besiktas administrator Berk Haciguzuller: We have paid all salaries to our footballers and workers for past 3 months paying in total 20 million euro. There are some financial issues we have right now but we focused to solve them and we capable to do so.

- Fenerbahce player Martin Skrtel has been selected as 3rd captain of the team.
