What happened in Turkish football today? 04/09/2018

Rizespor considers to sack its head coach Ibrahim Uzulmez.

Rizespor considers to sack its head coach Ibrahim Uzulmez due of its poor performance of the Super League during 1st 4 weeks as team only has gathered 2 points and has provided not very promising performance.

In fact, during this period Rizespor has been leading in last 2 games and has been close to win games but due of unexpected mistakes which was provided towards end of the game has lost those games. It needs to be stated as always that 1st league level is not same as it is at Super League and it does look like Ibrahim Uzulmez has an issue there as he is capable at showing top level performance with his side at level below but when it comes to the top league he begins to struggle and hence losing much needed games. It needs to be stated that at the end of this weekend game, Uzulmez has thrown blame towards his players stating that he worked and aimed to focus those mistakes but their making same mistakes. Even through quality of players at teams could be discussed blaming losing games towards players by head coach is not smart move and could be among reasons for club at deciding to sack him.

Rizespor has stated that talks with player is continuing and it could decide into decision about sacking during 48 hours and would make official statement when agreement would be made.

Gokhan Gonul and Abdulkadir Omur has been taken from squad due of injury.

Turkish National Team has began its preparation for 1st 2 games at the Nations League League B 2nd group against Russia on 7th September and Sweden on 10th September as it sees as new beginning for national team.

But even more important and focus of the team is given to the factor that its key players Abdurkadir Omur and Gokhan Gonul has become injured during injuries which their had recieved at Trabzonspor and Besiktas, respectively. Their absences could be key ones as both players could be seen among key players of the national team and provide some good performance in recent periods so it is important here for Turkish National Team head coach Mircea Lucescu to build alternative plan, but with some team seeing this tournament as friendly games he could be using this opportunity as to find ways to build new and young squad for this games and hence build new team. Hence even if absence of those players could be seen as bad news it could be an opportunity to continue Lucescu aims to build future team at national level.

Nations League without doubt could be new start for Mircea Lucescu and national team and those first 2 games could be great opportunity for him.

Cocu needs to find solution of bad results in this national team break.

Fenerbahce has provided its worst performance during 1st 4 weeks period since 1971-72 season and as would be accepted among main criticism has been towards head coach Phillip Cocu as he is leading role for performance at the team.

As this blog has been stated after games it was noticed worryingly that Fenerbahce has went backwards compare to last season. It was expected due of last season performance that Fenerbahce might have some difficulties due of start of the season as it still had last season issues. But it was expected that Cocu has problems at finding best starting 11, formation and way of the play in this period and he would need time to solve those issues. However, during this period team keep losing points and if it goes like that might lose its championship if it doesnt sort out things soon. Of course, if club is patient and sees as long-time project than its not big deal but if everyone wants league title right now, more likely, than patience with Cocu could end pretty soon. It is important hence to Cocu find perfect solution for problems at the field if he wants to stay.

Fenerbahce did start season very badly and looks to play worser than on previous reason but it has good opportunity to solve or at least identify reasons of this poor performance and go into improvement starting from next season.
