What happened in Turkish football today? 11/09/2018
Turkey has shown great character against Sweden.
Turkish National Team during its Nations League League B Group 2 2nd matchday game against Swedish National Team has shown great character as it has fought to win until last minute of the game thanks to the Emre Akbaba two goals after 87th minute.
Even through Turkey has managed to get a win towards end of the game and has come back with losing 2:0, to win game with 3:2 scoreline, it needs to be stated that it has shown much better game compare to Sweden and has shown fast tempo and looking for chances which is been view which wasnt seen from national team for long time right now. Prior to the game, Turkish National Team head coach Mircea Lucescu did state that performance of team would be different from previous games and that was the case. At the game, which Turkey needs to win to keep its chance to move up to League A and also get to the play-off round of tournament to have chance for Euro 2020 place it has shown great reaction and improvement after Russia. Emre Akbaba has become meanwhile most important player and also super substitution player as he has found goals at 87th and 90+2' minute and in duration of 5 minutes has brought such crucial win to Turkey.
This win has pushed team to get into competitive mood at the group and more importantly has provided hope for the future of the team.
Burak Yilmaz asking for his salary while TFF issue continues with statements between both parties.
An issue of Trabzonspor player Burak Yilmaz requesting his share of salary which he didnt recieve from his club carries on between both sides with player stating that what he demands is legal and should be practiced by all players.
It needs to be stated here that Trabzonspor CEO Ali Agaoglu and also club does admit that legally Burak Yilmaz are right but still experience some shock of this decision as player is aware that club are at economical issue and as been stated at our blog in previous entries is that this case could be solved between two bodies with some negotiations. Stating that however, the fact that value wasnt paid to Burak Yilmaz and this decision to demand for his salary could be seen as miscommunication between both parties as announcement of Trabzonspor at planning to pay this salary at one day could lead for Yilmaz to act more patiently about this issue. Meanwhile, Burak Yilmaz attending to the training session does show however that he would be still taking place at squad.
An issue with payment between both sides is however is expected to be solved and very likely Trabzonspor would pay requested amount of salary and this misagreement would be solved.
Galatasaray has allowed Martin Linnes to move to other team in winter.
It became clear that Galatasaray would be considering to sell its player Martin Linnes during mid-season transfer window even through it is known that both parties are actually are having good relationship with each other.
It is known that Martin Linnes are among players whose contract would be over after this season and it does look like team could be considering to sell him during mid-season transfer window if player would be recieving some transfer offers. Stating that it is also known that both sides are having good relationship with each other with Linnes reportingly declining some transfer offers during summer period. So even through this permission is given to Linnes, it is still seem high chance that player would be able to extend contract after its over as long as he doesnt seem to get better offer which would satisfy both sides. Again this story would be taking different direction in upcoming months for sure and its still long time until transfer window to be opened, with summer being closed only recently.
Martin Linnes would have time to consider this option and time would show if Linnes would stay in Galatasaray next year or not.
