What happened in Turkish football today? 20.07.2016

Osmanlispor should focus into winning game against Zimbru.

Osmanlispor would play its 2nd leg game at the Europa League 2nd qualifying round against Zimbru after drawing first game with draw of 2:2 scoreline and would aim to qualify to the 3rd qualifying round and make one step closer to final tournament.

Despite of drawing 1st leg game against relatively weaker team at the 1st leg game which was played last week, Osmanlispor still has 2 goal away goal advantage which means that unless it doesnt lose the game it is very likely to get next stage. With the advantage at the home and providing better focus onto the game compare to the last game it should not have big trouble at getting through this barrier in game where draw like 0:0 and 1:1 would also be enough. Of course, Zimbru will also come out in high motivation to the game and hence it needs to provide big attention to the game and aiming to get an important win and make its small but important mark for them at very first Europa League games.

Most crucial thing for Osmanlispor is to believe to itself and aim for the win as  team it is much quality team than its Moldavanian counterparts.

Mario Gomez announces that due of political reasons he will not stay in Turkey.

Fiorentina player Mario Gomez via his Facebook account has stated that he has ended his career at the team due of recents events which took place in Turkey. Among those Ataturk Airport terror attacks  and failed coup d'etat on 15th July.

Mario Gomez was among players who showed uncertainty of his stay at the team since April and it wasnt much clearer if he would stay. However, recent terror events in the country seems to lead to make his final decision. It is hard to be sure if with case of Gomez this could be treated as an excuse since it was known for long time that he is sensible about terror issues during this season. This announcement should not be treated as surprise as during summer he did give signs that he would leave team but there were unclear.

Right now Besiktas, would hope that Fiorentina would sell Gomez for good transfer fee so it would recieve good 50% its share was agreed by agreement by two teams.

Bruma looks like to be staying at Galatasaray next season.

The future of Galatasaray player Bruma continues staying uncertain as there are talks of him leaving the team even through it is known that both head coach Jan Olde Riekerink and player did make statements that their would stay at the team next season.

As with most players right now current failed coup d'etat events could also affect decision of most foreign players including Galatasaray player Bruma. However, Jan Olde Riekerink has stated once again yesterday after winning pre-season friendly tournament Uhren Cup that he is happy to keep Bruma at the team. It does look that he would stay at the team next season with today's development but it is too early to state for sure. Bruma is quality player and if he performs well next season his stay would be strong gain for Galatasaray.

It does also look Riekerink has some plans with Bruma if he insists of keeping for next season.
