What happened in Turkish football today? 26/10/2021

Besiktas provided fighting spirit against Galatasaray.

Even through it could be argued if Besiktas did provide top level performance against Galatasaray, its been side which did control game for most amount of it and did get well-deserved win thanks to 2 goals from Cyle Larin.

Besiktas with having some decline during recent weeks, did come to the game with focus to get 3 points both in sense of getting closer to leaders Trabzonspor and get crucial motivation and confidence. Even through it did provide much more willing performance, Galatasaray been side which which found first goal from Cicaldau and Besiktas without doubt did show good reaction with goal from Larin and later scoring 2nd goal. In fact, two players which did play such important win in this game have been both Cyle Larin and Ersin Destanoglu who did have very important saves from Mustafa Mohammed penalty kick in the end of the game which did come from hand ball from Domagoj Vida. Without doubt, Besiktas did need to get this win and they god without doubt with providing confident high level game against Galatasaray willing to get it even through some players were not in great form.

Besiktas possibly didnt show great game indivudually but showed strong fighting spirit collective which led for win for sure.

Galatasaray provided poor game against Besiktas especially at midfield.

Galatasaray on their part did attempt to provide similar performance which it does at Europa League with showing patient game but didnt provide same level performance and result in the end of the day without doubt which would make them dissapointed with outcome.

Galatasaray especially didnt manage to show high level game at midfielding position which also prevented them both to regain ball in that area and go forward while Besiktas high posession and attacks were mainly due of good midfielding structure. Galatasaray still could be praised for focussing into providing comeback towards last 10 minutes of the game with getting into high amount of possession during that period and also getting penalty which wasnt converted by Mustafa Mohammed who did provide pretty poor penalty kick as he did get ball from Cicaldau who is being penalty taker. This did prevent without doubt for Galatasaray to get crucial point as it found itself right now with 7 points behind leaders Trabzonspor. Still, it is hard to state in overall if their did deserve point from this game and would need to go through its performance without doubt.

Galatasaray did get outcome which it deserved and would need to focus why its performs differently at domestic and European leagues.

Trabzonspor needs to be ready for tougher games as season continues.

Trabzonspor continues to be only side in the Super League which didnt lose so far during this season with 4 point advantage from Hatayspor, Alanyaspor and Besiktas after 10 weeks.

Even through we are still at 1/4 of the season, Trabzonspor could be looking with strong optimism and belief for this reason believing that this season could be one with possibly getting lessons from season before, known also pandemic season, where it did lose its advantage and without doubt it would need to continue to be focussed and improving by each game as games would become more difficult with opponent being extra motivated against leaders. It needs to be noted that Abdullah Avci even through being very successful coach tend to show some struggles towards end of the seasons and this should be also his focus for upcoming games as most difficult period for them starts now.

Trabzonspor is being focussed for title right now but it needs to keep feet on ground as there is still 3/4 to play during rest of the season.
