Besiktas puts its condition into difficulty after losing to Sporting Lisbon
Besiktas has lost to Sporting Lisbon during Champions League Group C 3rd week game and has put its opportunities to get not only knockout stages of this tournament but also get 3rd spot for Europa League.
It needs to be noted that Besiktas did have pretty good start of the game with getting some tempo and possession which it did keep pretty high for most amount of the game but did provide pretty poor counter-attacking game from Sporting Lisbon which did provide high concentration and has converted goals with corner attacks and also being much more effective game. Therefore, this game showed pretty poor performance at defence with how Portuguese side did provide dangerous opportunities when it got into counter-attacks. Without doubt another factor which affected to this goal scoreline of not very effective game from Michy Batshuayi who did get into high number of opportunities but didnt convert them due of poor shots or getting into offside. With taking account that Sporting Lisbon is being potential opponent for 3rd spot in this group, losing with 4:1 scoreline would provide serious issues and winning might not be enough during next week when both sides would meet again.
Sporting Lisbon on their part did provide patient and counter-attacking which it did pretty successful and in overall did look to be better side compare to Besiktas despite of having lower possession.
With this loss Besiktas did put into difficult of continuing European tournaments but most important it needs to analyse this result with its capacities.
Metin Tokat has resigned as member of Central Referee Committee
Central Referee Committee member Metin Tokat, who also been in previous years referee, has announced his resignation even through its not been reported reason of such decision.
