What happened in Turkish football today? 20/10/2021

Besiktas defence has some issues.

Besiktas did lose to Sporting Lisbon during Champions League 3rd week game with 4:1 scoreline and did put its chances even for Europa League into difficulty as some simple defensive issues has been present.

In fact, it needs to be mentioned when looking into attacking aspect of the game Besiktas did provide pretty good and organised game with getting into dangerous opportunities which were not converted by Michy Batshuayi, but without doubt loss of this game did come from defensive aspect of the game. This  become even more clear after it did concede two exactly same goals from Sporting Lisbon, which does show that Lisbon did work on this position effectively but more importantly problems with Besiktas as conceding identical goals which did come from simple mistakes is not acceptable. It could be conceded once but when it happened 2nd time within few minutes, it is sign of serious issues. In overall, Besiktas does have issues as the side without doubt and this ones could provide some problems against Galatasaray.

Besiktas without doubt is being on decline when looking from previous season performance and Sergen Yalcin would need to find solution soon.

Galatasaray will aim for win against Lokomotiv Moscow for top spot.

Galatasaray who are currently being leaders at its tough group, would be having very important game against Lokomotiv Moscow as good results could led team to be fighting for top spot.

With Galatasaray providing much more game compare to domestic league and being leaders in the group, it is normal to accept for Galatasaray to be aiming to end group stage at top spot and hence not playing next round game due of new regulations of tornament. Lokomotiv Moscow without doubt is being tough and organised side but there are not in same quality as Olympique Marseille and Lazio which by itself would provide optimism and confidence when looking how it played against this two. Therefore, Galatasaray has real opportunity to get needed points from this games if its rightly focussed to it.

Galatasaray are in control of the group but its fate would be decided from upcoming 2 games against Russian sides.

Fenerbahce needs to show that its favourite.

Fenerbahce would be coming out to very important game against Antwerp which it would be needed to win without doubt if it wants to continue Europa League after autumn.

Fenerbahce does seem to be showing not same level of game which it does at domestic league so far at the Europa League with getting only 1 point from 2 games but it does have opportunity to turn around its fate as it would be meeting with weakest opponent in this group which did get so far 0 points despite of showing some good game in those meetings. Fenerbahce does have potential to get win if it would provide focus and organisation with showing some positive attacking game but key to be focussed and provide respect opponent but being aware that its better side without doubt.

Fenerbahce are favourites and need to win and hence needs to perform according to that against Antwerp.
