What happened in Turkish football today? 17/06/2020
Trabzonspor is highly motivated for double for this season.
Trabzonspor has managed to get its 1st win in Fenerbahce stadium after 23-years with providing more or less calm and controllable game due of relexation from 6th minute goal by Alexandr Sorloth.
It would be hard to state that Trabzonspor did provide very good performance but still it did had much more quality compare to Fenerbahce as their provided strong defensive game and used their counter attacks in an effective manner. Without doubt two main key players of the game have been Alexandr Sorloth and Ekuban whi provided strong and effective performance in attacks with Ekuban providing very good assists which made Sorloth easier to find two great goals. Without doubt this win has allowed Trabzonspor to get closer to its aim for double with being leaders in league and Turkish Cup, most importantly it does have quality and strength to get those two tournaments as their
did look most form club after 3 months break.
Trabzonspor without doubt having right now high motivation and would be looking forward for rest of the 8 games left in season.
Fenerbahce has lost its only way to safe this season.
Fenerbahce did control ball for most amount of the time without doubt but as been case for last 2 season, their werent able to convert chances during whole game and been pretty ineffective.
Despite of winning Kayserispor in impressive manner during Super League game with finding 2 goals in end of the game, it didnt provide very promising look in the game against Trabzonspor. Without doubt, Emre Belozoglu high heated argument with Sorloth, where both sides blame each other for provacation, has led for an early red card while being in changing room. This without doubt is not suitable for Belozoglu who plans to become sports director or coach after ending his career in the end of the season, especially this happining 2 games in row. Coming to performance wise, Fenerbahce without doubt did lack tempo and creativity during whole game. Meanwhile, Fenerbahce losing this game and even through does have small chance mathematically for Europa League spot, it did end season without doubt and now would look into plans for upcoming season.
Fenerbahce continues to be in crises, and Covid19 break didnt provide any assists during this uncertain period without doubt.
Antalyaspor looks to be more ready for Turkish Cup semi-final 2nd stage game against Alanyaspor
Second finalist at the Turkish Cup would be coming clear on 18th June as Alanyaspor and Antalyaspor would be meeting for 2nd leg, with Alanyaspor have small advantage of 1:0 thanks to away game win.
It needs to be noted by looking at Super League 1st week after Covid19 break, Antalyaspor does look in better form with getting good and impressive win against Besiktas while Alanyaspor didnt provide much strong performance against Basaksehirspor but to some extend there could be different motivation for game and Alanyaspor which, especially 1st half of season, did provide good performance would be aiming to get into final game and possibly end season with Turkish Cup. Both clubs certainly would provide all focus to the game with high hopes to get good result in such important game. Its hard to call favourite, but with reference to previous games in league Antalyaspor does have upper hand.
It would be expected to be mainly tactical game but both sides would be looking to get needed goals as it is unlikely Alanyaspor would be feeling safe with small advantage.

Turkish Cup, semi-final, 2nd leg:
Alanyaspor - Antalyaspor (agg: 1:0)
