What happened in Turkish football today? 05/10/2023

Besiktas continues showing poor performance with loss to Lugano with conceding goals in last 10 minutes.

Besiktas has lost to Lugano during Conference League game with 3:2 scoreline while winning game at 80th minute but loss of concentration and general lack of providing strong and effective performance for 90 minutes has led for such loss as team continues its decline of performance.

It needs to be stated that Besiktas did have start of the game at high note as Besiktas did found 2 goals thanks to the Vincent Aboubakar in first 50 minutes and to some extend has been in control of the game during 1st half even through Lugano did have some chances. However, it needs to be mentioned that turning point of the game has two yellow cards which led for Valentin Rosier which had an negative impact to the team for the rest of the game as Lugano started showing much more attacking game and did create some high number of the chances and has found goals in last 10 minutes. Even if Besiktas did play with one less man, such performance shouldnt be acceptable at the weakest side in the Conference League as team continues showing ineffective dissapointing performance in this season.

Lugano meanwhile didnt provide a great performance during 1st half and couldnt provide strong reaction to Besiktas attacking game even through it did create some chances. However, team should be praised without doubt for attitude which it has shown and did in fact send an important message to other clubs at the group.

Besiktas decline has been continuing and it needs to be stated that situation is getting worser for them and it is important for Senol Gunes to find solution to this as soon as possible to keep its chances both in Conference League and domestically.

Fenerbahce continues its winning run this time beating Spartak Trnava.

Fenerbahce continues its 100% record during this season as it has beaten Spartak Trnava during Conference League thanks to 2 goals from Joshua King even through it needs to be stated that this game has been ended up being much more tougher than they have anticipated.

It needs to be mentioned that Fenerbahce did come out with a 2nd squad more or less similar to one which it did come out during game against Nordsjaelland but during this game it ended up being much more tougher as even through it did control game, it has failed to create lots of chances as 1st half has been played with lack of chances from both sides. However, with introduction of its main players into field especially King, Szymanski has changed game as it started showing an attacking game and has found goals as Joshua King being able to create some good chances has led side to get an important win. Only negative aspect has been goal which it has conceded on last minute which did come out from simple defensive mistake which is being surprise taking account how side performed this season which provided some scare but still Fenerbahce been able to control game in last minutes.

Spartak Trnava it needs to be stated even through didnt provide much danger to Fenerbahce goal during 90 minutes has been observed to be focussing into organising defensive game which it manages to do well until 70 minutes but again Fenerbahce did play without main players. Spartak Trnava meanwhile is being with 0 points, losing to Ludogorets in previous week and hence finds itself at pretty tough position to get to the knockout stages.

Fenerbahce continues its winning run but didnt provide dominant game on the field but this detirmination and good performance of Joshua King did get an important win for getting top spot at the group.

Adana Demirspor are strong favourites against Trabzonspor.

Trabzonspor would be resuming its Super League campaign against in-form opponent Adana Demirspor during 8th week game as it would be playing against side which is seen to win title by bookmakers higher than them.

Trabzonspor has been providing unstable performance since start of the season and would be aiming to continue winning game following last week win against Pendikspor but this time it would be playing against side which does show strong and positive performance with so far only providing one poor game against Kasimpasa. Therefore, when looking into form of the teams and also in fact of quality of the side it could be stated that Adana Demirspor will be coming out as favourites with getting also strong home supporting team. Side would need to show as organised and focussed performance as it did Besiktas earlier this season which it won with 3:0 scoreline but this could be difficult task as it is not playing at home this time and with its poor run away games, Adana Demirspor does have great chance to get result it seeks for.

Adana Demirspor hence would be seen as favourite for this game as it is difficult to predict how Trabzonspor will perform due of its instability.
