What happened in Turkish football today? 22/10/2023

Fenerbahce carries on its 100% with beating Hatayspor this time

Fenerbahce has raised its winning run to 9th games at league and 17 games back-to-back, same amount of games which it has played during this season, as it had managed to beat Hatayspor with 4:2 scoreline with especially ending game during 1st half.

Fenerbahce didnt only continues to raise its winning run during this season but also continues to be improving its game and has dominated once again in this game with starting game in such manner which leads them to find goals on early minutes as it did find goal thanks to the Sebastian Szemanski on 6th minute. In fact, finding an early goals and in this time unexpected pretty poor tactical game of opponent has made things easier for Fenerbahce and didnt lead to Hatayspor to get into game at all and couldnt provide much resistance. It needs to be mentioned that 2nd half of Fenerbahce did look to be lower as it did show some relaxation due of 3:0 scoreline and also due of tactical and more correct changes of Hatayspor but even that it is case Fenerbahce did look to be on goal and when it conceded goal, it has managed to find goal in short period of time with Ismail Kahveci as it continues to become much more strong and dominat game.

Hatayspor did come out into gamme with 5 defenders as main aim of this tactical change has been to prevent Fenerbahce players to feel confident into attack but with players not being used to system has led for side to prevent it. Hatayspor has shown much more organised game but it has been too late as it lost its 1st game this season.

Fenerbahce continues  winning game and with how it performs it could be stated certainly that it doesnt look to be losing points in short time with such tactical game.

Besiktas ddi provide some good resistance but mistakes in defence costed them at least point.

Following loss to Galatasaray with 2:1 scoreline, Besiktas is now getting further from title race as it is being 9 points behind their opponents and 11 points from Fenerbahce but when looking at game it could be noted that it tried to resist with 10 men for almost 60 minutes.

Besiktas did come out as underdogs when looking at experience of Burak Yilmaz and also in general form and it needs to be mentioned that those factors did play a direct role with an outcome of the game as it did make simple defensive mistake especially as red card of Mert Gunok did come out from such mistakes as it left goalkeeper to go far from goal and make such an action as he is being last man. It needs to be stated that even through Besiktas didnt provide similar reaction to its opponent with some moments looking to be very passive, it still did find a goal with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but didnt provide good defensive game after that moment as it did concede from penalty kick which been converted by Mauro Icardi.

Besiktas could be praised for providing such good resistance for most amount of time but it did look that its behind its opponent in quality factor.

Galatasaray didnt show its best game but did get win at derby game

Even through, Galatasaray did get a win during derby game at home ground it needs also noted that it didnt provide its best performance and has got 3 points thanks to the Mauro Icardi high level performance.

It needs to be mentioned that Galatasaray actually did show good performance with creating some chances and converting goal from Mauro Icardi on 29th minute but following red card of Besiktas did psychologically had negative impact to team as it started playing in manner that it would win game which provided some confidence to opponent and to some extend has been main reason for Chamberlain as it did happen with conceding goal from defensive mistake. With providing some push towards goal on upcoming minutes it did find winning goal with Icardi. Meanwhile, an injury news from Icardi which could mean 1-2 weeks absence of game could affect to Galatasaray as he does take lion share of goals for team.

Galatasaray hence continues its undefeated games but this performance does raise some worries especially before game against Bayern Munich.
