What happened in Turkish football today? 23/10/2023

Trabzonspor got win against Alanyaspor but still being far from seeked top level performance.

Trabzonspor head coach Abdullah Avci has managed to get its 1st win at his return to the team with 1:0 scoreline against Alanyaspor due of Aliti an own goal as Trabzonspor was still far from its top performance.

In all fairness to Abdullah Avci and his team, there were not high expectation for the team but there was still expectation for side to get result due of motivational boost which head coach could be providing and also poor form of the opponent. And to some extend this is how game has been developed as it could be noted that Trabzonspor has been pretty far from its best performance as it lacked controllable, lacking an attacking game and hence did create pretty low amount of chances and when it did it didnt use effectively which would be expected from them in normal situation. It also needs to be mentioned that goal did come from simple mistakes from Alanyaspor as Aliti did score an own goal which did come from pressure given from Trabzonspor. There were some signs of improvement from Trabzonspor in overall but it is still very far from performance which Abdullah Avci would be seeking for.

Alanyaspor did have some positive moments with creating some chances especially after conceding but still it did lack to get control of the game for long time and did make some simple mistakes with especially conceded goal did possibly show lack of high concentration.

Trabzonspor once again didnt show very good performance but it has been still important to get a win at first game of Abdullah Avci with bad game and could provide important confidence boost for upcoming weeks.

Fenerbahce continues its 100% winning run this season.

Fenerbahce continues its winning run during this season as it managed to win all of the games both in domestically and in Europe and this time it did win Hatayspor with 4:2 scoreline, mainly showing dominating game at 1st half.

It needs to be stated that Fenerbahce fully has dominated game from start of the 1st half until half-time and this taking account that Hatayspor didnt lose any games prior to this fixture. Fenerbahce is being improving as side by each game and this has also been visible from this game as it has shown strong understanding and teamwork for 90 minutes and even if it did lose concentration and dominating game during 2nd half it still looked confident. Another important factor for Fenerbahce which has continued during this game is that it start finding an early goals which does make things much easier for them as Sebastian Szymanski had both continued habit of finding early goal and also strong attacking game from Polish player at home ground. Fenerbahce carries on improving as team and it does look it will not lose game or lose it easier in any time soon.

Fenerbahce continues winning run at all tournaments and now would be looking forward for Ludogorets game at Conference League.

Galatasaray aims to write history against Bayern Munich

Galatasaray would be aiming to once again writing history as it would be meeting with Bayern Munich but it needs to be aware that it would be much tougher game compare to Manchester United.

Galatasaray will be meeting not only favourite side at this group but also with one of main favourites to win whole Champions League and hence it would be needing to be aware. Even through win against Manchester United could be seen as big achievement, it needs to be remembered that English side is being on bad form and this win hasnt been entirely unexpected. Bayern Munich on other side is being at much better condition even if it has some important absences and hence Galatasaray would need to  play with full request to opponent. Meanwhile, it is unlikely for Mauro Icardi to be playing against German side which could also bring some issues at attacking game.

Galatasaray would be aiming to get historical result against Bayern Munich but it would be really tough to achieve it without doubt.
