What happened in Turkish football today? 24/05/2023

Fenerbahce has reached to Turkish Cup final with 3-goals during 2nd half.

Fenerbahce has got into Turkish Cup final with beating Sivasspor 3:0 during 2nd leg of semi-final at home ground with all goals coming on 2nd half as it has dominated game during those 45 minutes.

It needs to be mentioned that when looking in overall of the game, Fenerbahce has possessed ball for 90 minutes and has been better side but compare to 2nd half, during 1st half Fenerbahce didnt get full control of the game due of some organised defensive game from Sivasspor and opponents actually did create some good chances towards end of 1st half. However, goal from Ferdi Kadioglu on 1st minute of the 2nd half which did come from one chance from Michy Batshuayi getting post has provided needed confidence and had negative impact to Sivasspor and this led for Fenerbahce to continue half in dominant manner with Bathsuayi and King founding 2 more goals later in the half. Hence, Fenerbahce with good game in overall and especially during 2nd half did get its final ticket after 9 years.

Sivasspor it needs to be stated did provide some organised game during 1st half which prevented Fenerbahce do get clear chances and did create themselves in end of 1st half but quality factor did play its role during 2nd half. In overall, still Sivasspor could happy with its performance.

As it is known Jorge Jesus did set an aim to win both Turkish Cup and Super League and he had reached to final with being 1 game away from achieving one of the aims with such confident win.

Basaksehirspor expected to have tough time despite of advantage at tie.

Basaksehirspor would be coming to Turkish Cup semi-final 2nd leg game with 1:0 advantage scoreline against Ankaragucu at away game with an aim to get to the final during this dissapointing season.

It needs to be noted that Basaksehirspor actually did start season at very good form and has been seen among one of the title contenders but thing did turn into wrong direction after World Cup as performance of the team has been reduced. Despite of getting advantage scoreline in this tie, it is hard also to state that team did show very good performance during 1st leg. Even through Ankaragucu is not having very good season, it does have strong home support and would provide some issues to Basaksehirspor player psychology as players would also show good game.

Basaksehirspor does come out to the game with slight advantage but it would be tough game for them and they would need to show good game for 90 minutes.

Ankaragucu will be showing strong organised game against Basaksehirspor

Ankaragucu chances for final stages, which team really wants to get and mark another chapter of successes in its history, needs to be pretty realistic as team did show some improvement in recent weeks and would aim to get into final stages.

Ankaragucu is being on much better form compare to Basaksehirspor in recent games and tend to show much more attacking game and with push which would be coming from home supporters, it could be showing pretty strong positive performance especially when Basaksehirspor players are being out of confidence and motivation. Ankaragucu would hence aim for at least to get game into extra-time with looking for chances but not forgetting with defensive organisation.

Hence, it would be expected for Ankaragucu to show pretty organised game in all field which it needs to do if it wants to get into final of competition.
