What happened in Turkish football today? 22/07/2019

Basaksehirspor would play against winners of Olympiakos and Viktoria Plzen tie.

Basaksehirspor during 3rd qualifying round of Champions League draw has been drawn with not particular perfect opponents as it would be playing against winners of Olympiakos and Viktoria Plzen who did quality to actual tournament during past seasons.

It is true that we are not talking about specific giants and high level teams at European football but we are having at hand two teams which does have good results during qualifying stages of the tournament and hence would be able to provide some difficult time for Basaksehirspor. Also, with Abdullah Avci and losing some players during transfer window could lead for a team to lose its quality even through this factor is not entirely clear right now. Still, coming to the draw it could be stated that possibly Basaksehirspor would be rather have Viktoria Plzen than Olympiakos after that tie.

Basaksehirspor main aim is to get to the group stage but it still has 4 games until that route with 1st opponents being winners of tie above and it does look for now it would not be an easy route for them.

Trabzonspor would meet with Sparta Prague during Europa League 3rd qualifying round

Trabzonspor who didnt compete at European football for long time has been drawn against Sparta Prague, which could be seen as not very good draw as it did get among most difficult sides it could get at this stage.

Stating that it is clear that Sparta Prague on other hand didnt get perfect opponent for themselves and hence team would get one of the most toughest and unpredictable 2 leg game as both teams would be fighting for Europa League play-off spot. Among few clubs at this draw, both sides has got a great opportunity to get prepared for those games in duration of 2 weeks and study their opponents. It needs to be stated that Trabzonspor has missed European football and have hungry fans, players and administration which would provide needed motivation to get into this stage. This could be motivational boost for a team but Trabzonspor need to show some good performance against Sparta Prague.

It is not great draw but Trabzonspor are capable to get good result at this tie and get to play-off stage.

Yeni Malatyaspor would be aiming to show good qualifying campaign

Yeni Malatyaspor who has longest route at getting to group stage in European tournaments, would be playing against Connah Quay Nomads or Partizan as long as it manages to pass Olimpija Ljubjana.

Foremost and to all respect to Yeni Malatyaspor, it would not be an easy task for them to pass Slovakian side in this 2 leg ties, as it would play its 1st leg game but in other hand the team can provide suprising performance as several years ago has been shown by Osmanlispor. In fact, it could be stated that when coming to qualifiers Turkish clubs does tend to pass 2nd qualifying round mainly having some issues at upcoming games. Coming to 3rd qualifying draw, it would be expecting as long as it passes that Connah Quay Nomads would be able to provide surprising result even through Partizan quite understandably are favourites at that tie. Yeni Malatyaspor main task is to show top level performance at this qualifiers starting with Olimpija Ljumbjana game.

Yeni Malatyaspor would have tough games but it would be aiming to at least pass 2nd qualifying round and show top game.
