What happened in Turkish football today? 08/05/2019
Bulent Yildirim doesnt expect to recieve any games until end of the season.
Aftermath regarding referee of Turkish Super League 31st game between Galatasaray and Besiktas, Bulent Yildirim carries on being main topic at Turkish football media as it become clear that Central Referee Committee will not consider to appoint him to any upcoming games until end of the season.
This development, even through is seen at rumour case right now, does provide that Central Referee Committee admits that Yildirim has shown poor refereeing performance during game as he was criticised for taking sides which our blog has also noted even through it admitted that it didnt have much direct impact into final result. Meanwhile, Besiktas on their own side planning to make an effective protest during 32nd week game against Alanyaspor where players plan not to provide any movement towards 1st minute of the game. In addition, Besiktas fans are also planning to show their protests at the start of the game. The aim in here as would be expected to send strong message towards TFF and Central Referee Committee but it is questionable how effective it would be and how it would achieve its aim. Hence, Bulent Yildirim personally could have strong impact right now as he keep recieving high amount of protests and also committee decision, if true, would be another blow for his morale very likely but it is correct action to be done.
Referees, even with introduction of VAR, sadly are carried to be criticised at Turkish football community and referees need to find ways to improve own performances with possible impact it would have into Turkish football as whole.
Galatasaray has made transfer deal with Ryan Babel for 2 years.
It became clear that Galatasaray has made transfer deal with Fulham player Ryan Babel for 2 years with 2.5 million euro salary as Babel current team has been relegated to Championship in England.
Ryan Babel of course is very familiar with Turkish football as he has left Besiktas during mid-season transfer window and has also played at Kasimpasa beforehand and hence would not have an issue of getting adapted to league which as it is known does recieve high amount of time when joining Super League clubs from foreign league. It needs to be remembered that Babel leaving Besiktas has been discussed a lot as he was unhappy at club and he did make it clear to the media with his reaction both with condition at team and also rumours which was going around media. There is high possibility that Babel would show high level performance at the Galatasaray when he joins team and could become one of the key players and providing some strength for attacking performance at the team.
It is expected that Babel would be joining team as soon as season over in Premier League and if Galatasaray gets league title he would be joining team's celebration party at stadium.
Valbuena likely to extend contract with Fenerbahce but offers from Europe can change this.
With high expectation that Fenerbahce player Mathieu Valbuena would be extending contract with his current club at the end of the season there are still strong interests towards player in summer transfer window.
Cancellation of clause at his contract of playing 25 games in season which would lead to automatic extension of contract did show some goodwill and also opportunity for both player and club to changes at contract, it also openned an opportunity to move to other team and has provided some hope for clubs which are interested to transfer him. With high amount of interest towards player coming from French, Italian and German clubs it would look Valbuena would be highly discussed during summer transfer window until he signs extension with Fenerbahce which in all fairness can even happen as soon as season is over. Fenerbahce meanwhile with player would like for player to stay but would ask for player to reduce his current salary due of economical difficulties which are present at the team with Valbuena very likely to stay at team.
It is highly likely as been stated for Valbuena to extend his contract with Fenerbahce but some interesting offers from European clubs could change this chances into different directions.
