Galatasaray has won 22nd league title with beating Basaksehrispor with 2:1 scoreline.
Galatasaray has won 22nd league title in history of the Super League with turning around 1:0 deficit to 2:1 win during "winner takes it all" game as it has shown strong adaptation following not great 1st half game and has used its advantage of playing home ground and high experience of such conditions.
Even through both sides could have got title with only winning at such crucial game at penultimate week but with so many factors Galatasaray did come out as favourites including factors playing at home, experience at title race aspects and very important Fatih Terim factor. It needs to be stated that all of this factors which has been mentioned at our blog and actively discussed at Turkish media has been case. In fact, even when it was losing to Basaksehirspor with 1:0 scoreline during half-time there was strong expectation to turn around game with their stance. Galatasaray has turned around 2nd half and has played like the team which was playing a game while Basaksehirspor didnt even have chance to go forward a lot. With also 2 goals being disallowed prior to Henry Onyekuru finding championship goal it has shown strong concentration to game and has continued to show an attacking game looking for chances and hence finding winning goal. Galatasaray has deserved to win this game and hence has deserved its league title.
Basaksehirspor meanwhile has provided in their view all of the downsides of not winning this game and also title during this game with mainly one not having Plan B for a game which has been mentioned at our blog as it has found 1st goal and has provided its main performance and has shown strong control of the game and not allowing Galatasaray to get upper hand a factor which has been used a lot during this season. However, when Galatasaray has started showing much more attacking game and also finding scoreline, Basaksehirspor didnt provide any reaction. Even back on days when point difference has been 8, we did mention that Galatasaray does need to find alternative ways to find ways to win game and it didnt provide any reaction to this. To be honest, team which loses 8 points advantage and still become league title doesnt really deserve and hence it provides strong reaction. Basaksehirspor has lost league title with failure to win when it matters most, and this factor since has led for a team to lose its league title. Basaksehirspor need to figure out how it can move forward as team without having any supporters without doubt.
Galatasaray has won 22nd league title with great character once again and has got well-deserved league title with strong belief and also showing great performance against Basaksehirspor and showing strong belief during this season with strong self-belief.
Trabzonspor are behind Besiktas but it does have upper hand for 3rd spot at last week.
Trabzonspor has provided strong focus and concentration towards Super League penultimate week game against Besiktas and hence has won game with 2:1 scoreline and has kept its chances for 3rd spot and hence direct entry to Europa League arrive for last week.
It has been stated several times at our blog, prior to game that Trabzonspor would be able to provide much stronger concentration to the game as it would be playing against its direct opponent compare to Besiktas whose chances prior to game for league title even through has been arrive, it was directly related to game between Galatasaray and Basaksehirspor. This factor has went into hand of Trabzonspor who has shown great start of the game and providing forward seeking football without allowing Besiktas to have any control of the game and didnt allow them to come out from their own half. During 2nd half, Trabzonspor also provided a bit more attacking game and have found 2 goals, with 2nd goal has been specifically important as it came straight after Shinji Kagawa goal. Trabzonspor has gained an upper hand and would be coming to last week aiming for a win against Rizespor, as it would keep them high chances to end league at 3rd spot looking at mental condition of Besiktas.
Trabzonspor did have mixture performance during this season but without doubt as side their would provide whole focus to end season at 3rd spot which it deserves when looking its season in overall.
Besiktas has lost focus and concentration to league after Galatasaray loss.
Besiktas on other hand was in condition which was that with body their were at the game but mentally their have given up race even losing realistic chances not only getting league title but also 2nd spot which is qualifiers for Champions League.
After losing to Galatasaray during last week, it was visible that Besiktas has lost all concentration and belief for rest of the season which was also obvious during last week game against Alanyaspor despite them winning with also good goals. It does look like Besiktas needs to forget about its current condition and now aim for providing good performance next week against Kasimpasa for 3rd spot which would provide direct entry to Europa League. But it needs to be mentioned, and it was stated at yesterday blog, that with team which aims for league title to lose that opportunity it would be difficult mentally to get concentrated for last game. Besiktas with this result as has lost an advantage for draw and would need to win last game against Kasimpasa if it wants to end season at 3rd spot as long as Trabzonspor wins their own game.
Besiktas has lost all motivation and concentration during last 2 games and now it would need to win next week to avoid qualifiers for Europa League.
